Was wondering when/if there would be an official response to the original German article :(

    Purely an AVR problem.

I bypassed my 4K 60Hz AVR when I got my LG CX (and 3090 FTW3 Ultra) because I wanted 120Hz and Gsync to work. HDMI directly to the TV, and a cheap DP to HDMI converter to my Onkyo RZ-810. I get the 4K 120Hz 10 bit RGB HDR & Gsync picture that I want, with Dolby Atmos out to my 5.2.2 speaker setup.

I’m interested in doing the same thing. It is a passive DP to hdmi converter not an active one right? Can you link yours if it works fine with you? Thanks

    nice!
I have a Yamaha RX-A3080 reciever and I have been worried about this issue so I decided to avoid it all together and not game in my family room. Even though i have a sweet 7.1.2 setup and expensive speakers.

Im using it now with a 65" c9 in a room that uses a plain sound bar :/

Yep, passive - no need for active since it's only being used as an audio source: https://www.amazon.com/gp...x_pop_mob_b_asin_image

I put the dummy display in the lower left corner (so I don't go off screen as much), and set it to 1024x768 (lower and it won't set Dolby Atmos in Windows sound).

Yep AVR issue. Looks like it can't be firmware updated.

What official response would you like? This isn't something Nvidia or its board partners did. This was something Panasonic did and it's on them to fix it.

Panasonic had sold off this part of the company a while back.

    Regardless, it's not Nvidia's or it's AIB's doing.

Sorry I didn’t want or expect an official response from EVGA.  I was hoping for something from any of the receiver manufacturers.   I should have been more clear.

I'm confused here.  Panasonic is / was making the HDMI 2.1 chip for everyone in 2020.  The report you posted is from 2019 with the sale being completed in 2019.  So, what is Panasonic actually making then?

    Core i7 6700k
    Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI
    2x8GB Team T-Force Vulcan Z 3200Mhz
    EVGA 2070 Super XC Ultra
Corsair AIO? with 3D Printed spacer
    Mushkin 240GB SSD
    1TB NVMe
    1TB Seagate SSHD
    LG Black BD-Drive UH12NS30
    Seasonic Focus GM-750 80+ Gold
    Silverstone Grandia GD09B HTPC Case

But Panasonic isn't the one making that chipset. A company that bought that part of Panasonic out is. Dunno what else I can tell you but Google fu.
