hi i installed the client and initialy had no issues. the first time i run it i had heat issues so i had to shut it down. while i was getting the heat under control i missed the first deadline. when the first bigadv fiished it was in the night and when i looked at the pc the next morning i was met with deadline missed msg, but the client didnt download another WU. after a restart it downloaded an a3 wu (i think). i was advised that sometimes if no bigadv is available it will do that. i let the a3 run and have just recieved another one. is this right or has someting gone wrong? i double checked and i ran the right command ./fah6 -smp 7 -bigadv i noticed with the first a3 i got the client still shown 7 x 1 x 1 but the second one i recieved it shows 1x7x1, what is the relevence to this? if any

./fah6 -bigadv -smp 7 (this way) Don't forget that you need to do 10 A3's before you can get the bonus points on the bigadv's Are you running a stock CPU fan? If you are I would suggest an aftermarket cooler.

yes been running the a3 for a few months on a couple of i5 rigs when i first put the i7 together last week i first put on a sythe ninja cooler, but temps was hitting 95degrees so swapped it to a titan fenrir and the temps where about the same, so i pulled the o/c back to 3.8 and its running at 65 degrees now. thanks

I have been folding other WU's besides the -bigadv now. They arent as common as they used to be so you might have to fold a few just to get one.

One of my bigadv rigs has been receiving SMP2 work units instead.

sgb101 can this set up be monitored by HFM from a 2nd windows pc (on the same network)? Yes you can. You would use the same address format in HFM on the second PC. \\IP\fah Just make sure that the firewall does not block access to the network share via the VM otherwise the second PC will not have access to the share.

1055t tanner2 could I use a amd 1055t or am I better off using a i7 930 The 1055t may be fast enough however, I read this is a six core chip. The folding client needs to be able to detect 8-cores (or thread support) before it will attempt to download a bigadv work unit. Based on that, the 930 would be your best bet.
