The card is good overall with Factory Settings. But, when I crank up the voltage to 1093, it's dropping power draw thus fps drop.
Restarting the machine will reset this power throttle.

Do you have any suggestion for stress tool? I'm using Superposition 8k optimal.

That's odd. Sounds like your card may have a problem. Running the 8k optimized preset in superposition is recommended.

Now, I'm beginning to think that this card is faulty. I tested another card from a different manufacturer and I don't encounter this power consumption drop.

Im having the issue that im not getting the white vertical line. The skin is the same. Afterburner 4.6.0 Beta 9 with the 416.16 driver at the EVGA 1080 TI FTW 3. Also it's not showing the voltage

I tested the newest version. The white line is more faint now, but it is still there.

To make the voltage show simply go into settings and checkmark unlock voltage monitoring.

Anyone have it where the extra voltage doesn't help in the least? I'm able to get 2063 at 1.062V. Figured I'd see 2100 by bumping it up to 1.093V, but no dice. Might as well not even throw extra voltage at it for a minimal bump in core clock. card has a hydrocopper block and temps never go above 40C. Another question I had was, does the extra voltag help the memory clock? Or completely unrelated?
Edited for typos

Some chips like it hot, some don't. It isn't written you have to run it at max volt - you need to find the best setup for the hardware you are working with. If you cant get that OC with less voltage then

This guide has worked perfectly for me. Gone back to stock bios and finally cracked that 2075mhz mark. (2136)

Even after unlocking voltage control in the general menu?

i maxed fans with PX1, and have MSI afterburner running. Card is boosting to 2100 on its own, then throttling back with temps, 2055 @ 59c

i have no OC set on either program.

Great guide but when using a curve gpu clock, memory and voltage doesn't downclock in Windows when idling. :-(

Idling in Windows work for me when using default clockspeed or when overclocking using the sliders only.

Not sure if this may have something to do with my 1440p 165Hz Agon AG271QG monitor?

Edit: Oh, opening the curve and hitting ctrl+l may help? I am not at home right now but will try this later. :-D

Yep, hit ctrl+l inside the curve & set your desktop refresh rate to 120 hz and then you should be all good.

Thanks, are you saying that I would have to manually deactivate my oc from Afterburner when using a curve if I want it to downclock when idling in Windows when not playing? It's no way getting this to work automatically? GPU oc using a curve really locks core, memory and voltage?

No, hitting ctrl+l again afterwards will make the card idle on the desktop, but when you launch an application the curve should still take effect without having to use ctrl+l to lock the clocks.

Thank you, I will do more testing.

Actually I don't have a EVGA card (I bought a used Aorus 1080 ti) but your guide and knowledge in this area is great. :-D

In Sweden EVGA have a very good reputation for good quality and support, now I understand why.
