Hi All, I've been conversing with Manual G at Nvidia and I need to get him as much user data as possible to help Nvidia improve SLI and Gsync. I know many of user on the ROG Swift thread are not 100% happy with their own SLI/Gsync experience. Please post your results and specs.

Question With such powerful hardware, why have you turned off the steroids of your Titans by using the texture quality "high performance" setting? This setting should (for 90% of users) be left at its default (Quality) setting. By using the "high performance" you have basically turned OFF all the hardware and software enhancements that make a high end card like a Titan work best... no wonder you are unhappy Seems to me, that running your NVCP settings at defaults would be a good idea for testing

Run whatever settings you like and feel are best for you But do NOT post that you are having problems with G-Sync when you are FORCING settings in the Global Tab of the NVCP -->THAT DIRECTLY IMPACT G-SYNC PERFORMANCE *Thats not "TEXT" quality I was mentioning, its the setting that controls how your videocard does the MATH for TEXTURES -->Your AO setting, FXAA and texture quality settings (in the Global tab) are all incorrect for testing G-Sync. I am trying to help you

I appreciate your help. I've ran with default settings and I ran it with my pref. Same results. what is your experience with G-sync and SLI? I run the same settings on both my rigs. only the SLI rig has the stutter affect.

G-Sync is a simple hardware timing table shared between the monitor and videocard G-Sync stutter issues are most often caused by either -seriously- over/under running FPS and-or incorrect settings that cause too much of a delay in the framebuffer. It appears you do not understand how the desktop settings you are using (and the the EFFECTS of those settings on secondary programs on the desktop of the second monitor) are interfering with G-Sync performance. What testing programs/games are you using for testing? G-sync is for frame handshake control, it does NOT fix issues caused by other factors. My main concern after reading you post was the incorrect settings and monitor setup (as shown) used. Testing using those settings and monitor/app setup are sure to produce G-Sync issues

2nd monitor isn't interfering? I've ran with just the gsync monitor connected same results. I run a 2nd monitor on both rigs. Only the SLI rig has adverse affects running Gsync in SLI. Do you have a Gsync monitor and if so what are your settings? I've spoken with Jacob and Manuel-G both said my driver settings where correct. " My main concern after reading you post was the incorrect settings and monitor setup (as shown) used. Testing using those settings and monitor/app setup are sure to produce G-Sync issues" this doesn't make any sense to me. My monitors are setup correctly? DO you really know what you're talking about? Do you have any experience with Gsync?

What software are you using for testing? I dont have a G-Sync monitor, but I KNOW how drivers, settings and hardware work... The reason SLI behaves differently, is in how the frame buffer works and THAT is very dependent on the SETTINGS/hardware config used and WHAT PROGRAM/GAME YOU ARE USING TO TEST WITH. Quote "Only the SLI rig has adverse affects running Gsync in SLI" You appear to be putting diesel into a gas engine... no wonder its smoking.

ok you have no Gsync experience. Thanks anyway. BTW when an Nvidia rep tells me to do this. I tend to listen to experts.

LOLOLOL enjoy Make sure to TELL Nvidia that your running non standard settings, a custom modded SLI profile and a unsupported FOV -->You CERTAINLY have not done so, as nobody would suggest such settings or config for testing. You should NOT have any input to any driver changes or improvements, your user feedback is based on config and user error during testing *proper testing leads to REAL data, improper testing just makes improving drivers a nitemare as the data is false

I am actually the NVCP/Game settings expert you need, you just dont care. So why did you post? Your G-Sync monitor is running fine and setup correctly The software (you appear to be using, since you will not say) has KNOWN issues with SLI, even MORE SO with the incorrect settings you have and the secondary display. Its doubtful even correct settings would help much, but its worth correctly testing. BUT ONLY IF YOU WANT TO You dont..... *(and you are -not- a testing candidate for Nvidia under any circumstance given the details in this thread)

Thanks mods, Getting back on topic. I've ran with Default global settings, ran with a only the Gsync monitor connected. Same results. SLI doesn't run as smooth or efficient as single card in Gsync mode. Manual-G at Nvidia said the next driver will have some TLC for Gsync users and SLI.

SLI isn't consistently as smooth as a single card. In my opinion, it seems only logical that all other things being correct and equal, the SLI gsync will still have hicups whenever SLI has hiccups. Predicting and timing a monitor signal with SLI which is also trying to predict and time itself, seems to create a compounded effect.

I agree, but I don't have SLI stutter issues with Vsync-off or on. I only notice it with Gsync.

Maybe a slight unnoticeable SLI stutter becomes amplified by Gsync due to a timing inconsistency. In other words, a small unexpected fault could become amplified by a sudden reaction to the fault. Like when you say a word wrong but make the mistake more obvious by repeating it again correctly.

dustingg Interesting yes, I see what your saying. There is a Pixel patch I'm going to try when I get home today. http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-NVIDIA-Pixel-Clock-Patcher some people are saying this fixed their SLI/Gync issues.
Out of curiosity, do you have OverDrive (OD) set to off, normal or extreme? Mine was set to normal by default and when i set mine to off BF4 seems to be alot smoother with SLI and G-SYNC. Maybe its just me but doesnt hurt to try if u haven't yet.

I have the pixel OD turned off in the swifts OSD. I don't like the affects, especially in white back grounds in games or say a snow map game. ex. BF4

After applying the pixel patch I do notice a little bit better performance. Still needs more work. I think Nvidia will get to the bottom of it. If not I'm done running SLI from here on out.
