I've seen a few people on here wanting 64gb kits but running 4 dimms has a huge impact on what frequencies you can push with many not even being able to hit 4800 with 4 dimms. Looks like gskill is releasing a 2x 32 GB 6000 c32 kit

Definitely a motherboard problem moreso than a memory issue. Would be interesting to see someone use this and report how stable it is.

Overclock.net has a whole thread with 200+ pages of it...also, ddr5 is readily available and at the same price as launch. No need to buy from scalpers...

I've seen people with issues across a bunch of different brands with high end boards not being able to hit decent clocks. Some can't get above 4000, some can't get past 4800. I've seen a few max out at 5200. I assumed it was more of an IMC issue than a topology issue since it seems like a universal thing with 4 slot z690 boards but definitely not a memory issue.

The new Bios may fix it but i got to wait for a 32 gig flash drive.. the windows version failed.

Why do you need a 32gb flash drive to flash a bios? The bios is only a few mb.

I also have the 2x16GB version, running XMP stable with this kit requires a decent/strong CPU IMC.

The 2x16GB kit is high bin SK Hynix. Running tight timings, low voltage DDR5 requires a strong IMC to boot/run stable.

Motherboard, BIOS, Micro code,.. in general will help system performance, memory compatibility at lower speeds,.. but running DDR5 6000MHz + with tight timings, low voltage is mostly dependent on your CPU IMC.

I have tested several 2x32GB DR kits, they all run vary hot even at 1.10V due to having IC's on both sides of module. The kits I tested all would run at 6000MHz with 1.46V CL 32 stable.

The specs of the G.SKILL 2x32GB CL30 kit is vary impressive,.. but I am guessing will require a vary strong IMC to boot/run XMP stable, and those modules will generate a ton of heat without active cooling.

Frequency for ddr5 is genuinely dependent on the motherboard this gen. Most chips will comfortably run 6600+ without issue if the motherboard isn't borked. As a good example, Igor's lab was given a binned motherboard (z690 apex) and tested 30 12900k's, all of them booted and ran over 7200Mhz, average was about 7400Mhz, max around 7600Mhz.
    Link to testing:
    https://www.igorslab.de/e...ison-with-12900k-kf/2/

Cl32 also isn't very tight considering the frequency of 6000. The Imc isn't really concerned with CL until you get down to 28 but from testing, dimm heat is the #1 reason for being limited to 30/32.

Looks like the new 1.1 bios specifically adds better support for 32 GB gskill 6000 kits so maybe the 1.1 bios will help

Edit: And it also looks like you can update the bios with an NTFS flash drive. Just tested and the bios can read but not write. Updated my bios no problem but it could not take screenshots or save profiles.

Edit 2 (lol): Looks like I misread... it helps compatibility with 32 gb MODULES, not kits. So it's basically adding support for the 64gb kit I brought up here.
