Even though this is being advertised as a gaming GPU, and the recent benchmarks being now confirmed by trustworthy sources of very minimal performance gains, why would someone pay almost double the cost of a 3080? This makes no sense to me.

From their how it works page, it sounds like your credit score takes a hit when you get the loan. Early payment and low account age (for those thinking of immediately paying off) are items that could potentially hurt your credit. Not a fan of having to take a hit to credit just for a graphics card when my cards have plenty of room on them many times over...

Unfortunate that it seems to be the only reliable option. @EVGA please take a look at your payment processors prior to next launch, seems to be the weakest link here.

Your credit score will not be affected when you check your eligibility, even though we perform a credit check. If you decide to buy with Affirm, your loan and payments may affect your credit score. Paying on time can help you build positive credit history.

I've used Affirm twice now.  Once with the 2080 TI, and now with the FTW3 3090.  Literally the only 2 things I have ever used affirm for.  It does show up on my credit report, but not negatively.  I instantly paid off the TI, and will do so with the 3090 as soon as it lets me.  My credit hasnt dropped 1 point.

First time, I have ever used/needed it. Not letting me pay it off; I am guessing EVGA approves the Affirm loan once they ship?

Also, is logging in with a phone number code the only way to login?

So it is basically just financing the card?

Yea, but obviously you can just pay it completely off after getting the loan.

I'm >800 score and even the most minor trivial changes like a single credit pull 12 months ago affect the number by several points.  I suspect you're looking at a "free" credit score that is always wrong if it's not changing after a hard pull.

It's also worth noting though there's no practical difference between an 800 and an 850 for lenders so I wouldn't really be bothered by adding another line item to my report.

I couldn't even get the evga site to load in at all. And when it did the 90 ftw ultra said instock but only ever gave the traffic cone error. It amazes me that some people it worked for, and most not at all.

Eh, I'll try this strategy, but considering everything I've gone through, it probably won't work for no reason.

What if I said that one's entire life had been decided by fate? That every single one of your actions, from the minute to the monumental, stemmed not from your own choices, but had already been decided upon? That life being a journey of limitless possibilities was but an illusion, and no matter how fiercely man struggled, he stood at the mercy of a long-established path? The wealthy shall know their riches. The needy shall starve on the streets. The wicked shall be wicked, the righteous just. The beautiful, the hideous, the strong, the frail, the fortunate, the miserable... and finally, the victors and the defeated. What if I said that all such things had been carved into stone eons ago, allowing for no divergence? If so, sinners have nothing to answer for, nor do saints have any true virtue to their name. What if I said that not a single action is carried out of one's own volition, but had been decided long ago? That we are merely adrift in the current of time? Tell me, would yo

You would think that in 2020 we wouldn’t have problems like this but here we are. I really do miss just standing in line on release day and walking out with the product.
