I thought this might make for an interesting take, at least I hope.  While I know a number of people are fed up looking for GPUs for a number of reasons I find myself giving the middle finger to Sony and MS and their next gen. consoles.  Sony's strikes were in not including at least BC going back to PS3 digitally and physically.  I was willing to buy a PS5 at launch just for this plus the exclusives.  After finding this to be false I passed on the launch thankfully.  Why thankfully?   Because of it having a CMOS battery and the same issue shared with PS3/4.  That was the final nail in the coffin and Sony's nonsense censorship was a side reason.
So why not XBox you say?  A number of reasons, lack of BC for the Kinect a big one.  Another one is their "Perfect" BC fanboys brag about.  A number of 360 exclusives, even one PUBLISHED by Microsoft, is not bc for the One.  People had to scream in MS' face almost just to get the console exclusive "Infinite Undiscovery" as BC.  Also 360 Indie games are not BC and a number of those games are only left on MS' Indie games service "Vorpal"(I think) and "Evil Quest".  I pray all these games get preserved.
So to not have to deal with this headache of worrying about BC and getting better versions I'll go with PC...plus cheaper pricing for games.  If Sony gets rid of the CMOS problem I MAY buy a PS5 Pro but real BC would have me run to get it, hopefully PS3 Move games will work because PSVR is BC.
The exception is the Switch because of good exclusives and no CMOS nonsense.  I hope the same turns out true for the Amico and it really is a 2D HD powerhouse.

The PS5 controller that came with my console had buttons that wouldn't pop back up and eventually the R2 trigger just stopped working (became very loose and I'm assuming the spring inside broke). I bought a new controller and only a few days later am I getting joystick drifting problems. It's so incredibly frustrating.

Sorry to hear that man.  I hope it doesn't become as widespread as the Joycon drift.  Those controllers aren't cheap and I can't believe you can't just get a replacement within' warranty here.

Having tried all three throughout the years nothing beats pc gaming. I will from time to time hop on console for sports games but thats about it.

Xbox Series X + Game Pass is the only way to enjoy gaming if you don't have a good GPU, I am really considering it since I'm using a GTX 970 and it's starting to show its flaws with newer games

Never was a fan of Xbox, but I did own all the PS. I was turned off by the heat problem the PS5 has. I'm using a RX480 with free sync and I can game comfortably on most games. Maybe PS4 will be my last console.

I still play my PS4 every day. I have a few games that I really enjoy on my TV. Outside of that, everything else is on PC. It sucks you had that much issue with a PS5. I was going to do the same, get a PS5 since I couldn't find a GPU.

    Bro relax, they're just games.
Personally I like both PS5 and PC, waiting for the switch pro.
Xbox is kind of useless if you have a PC, all their games are on PC including game pass.

Something about a PS5 with no games to buy

With games still releasing cross-platform (e.g. Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7) I don't see any reason to get a PS5. I probably won't get one in the future either. It's not worth it to me. I get great frames on PC and more and more Sony games are coming to PC anyway.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I ended up getting a ps5 only because I didn't want to pay scalping prices for a gpu. Have all the parts aside from that. I am debating what I want to game on long term as well but to be honest I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Same. I was lucky enough to snag a 6900xt recently on Amazon but still can't find a ps5 here in Germany. It's tough times right now

PS5 does have better exclusives but... idk. $500 vs. $2000 PC. Tough to swallow for casual gamer.

I never owed MS Xbox consoles, neither Sony PS consoles - owned one Nintendo console (8-bit NES).
For now it's just PC gaming - the trade off with consoles vs PC is the flexible to upgrade PC whereas keep buying new consoles every few years.

I have always been a playstation guy, but i want to get into PC gaming more. It's just a hard switch to make with a mouse and keyboard, but I am working on it! I like the customizability of PC a LOT more for sure. More games too. It is just a process.

You'll pick up the m+k in time. If you want to pick it up quicker I'd say play fps games. Also, PC has flexibility. If you want to play some games with controller you can! I love having a choice.

You are making the right choice, I stopped buying consoles since PS2 and never turned back.  PC gaming is better in every way.

Although, if I had kids I would definitely be buying them consoles.
