You can move this Thread under Crunching@EVGA I had thought that that was where I created it in the first place. This may cause less issues with Forum Members that do not Run BOINC Projects.

That was how I found this issue I have no GTX 980xx cards running any longer so I could not test on them. Thank you for posting your Host Link for other to see the Run Times. The last Driver I am going to test is 397.93 Then back to the best running Driver

What is the best running driver? 390.65 looks like. But that can change by project?

Or 391.35 this is what I am going back to now, but 390.65 seems overall a good BOINC or Folding Driver on NON-RTX Cards

Never, At least on the GTX 1080 Ti Cards and this is a OpenCL App on a Non-RTX Card. Maybe in a year or two.

Unless they gimped cuda to make RT work for some reason. Or they wanted to make the old cards slower so you will go buy a new card.

Remember they made the 7 series worse when they released the 9 series? Had to manually DL the old folding version, and it would keep updating. What a mess that was.

Nope, I am going back to 391.35 one of my X299 Darks, they are running the same CPU and Memory running the same GTX 1080 Ti GPU. This way I can compare 391.35 to 390.65 get a better fell for the Driver and AP.

Sorry I can not watch that for 8 minutes. Not sure if Nvidia does it on purpose for planned obsolescences, but with out a doubt the drivers can, and do sometimes kill the performance. Folding and BOINC seems to be hit harder than games . The drivers really hurt folding on Kelper to make Maxwel fold better. Was it PGs fault, was it Nvidias fault, I do not know. Did it happen, it sure did. Did the new 4xxx drivers hurt crunching BOINC primegrid, sure did.

I can see the last link. Hope they can figure it out quickly. Remember how long it took to figure out what went wrong with folding a few years ago. The drivers have no influence on the new 20xx GPUs, only the older GTX cards?
