Gears 5's latest update delivers on a long-promised feature, FidelityFX, a contrast-aware sharpening algorithm which is designed to bring out fine details in rendered images without introducing the artefacts that are associated with strong post-process sharpening techniques.

When implemented into Gears 5, the feature lacks the FidelityFX On/Off option that most other implementations have. Instead, The Coalition has replaced Gears 5's stock sharpening solution with AMD's FidelityFX, while retaining the Sharpening strength option that Gears 5 already featured. This change makes Gears 5 the first game to allow gamers to define the strength of AMD's post-process sharpening tool.

In other games that featured FidelityFX, the feature came with practically no performance cost, granting gamers a graphical upgrade with seemingly no downsides. The same logic should apply to Gears 5.

This should be a very interesting feature if made correctly.

So, is it the same Game ?  Just a change in coding for - contrast-aware sharpening algorithm ?

If that is all it is it will be interesting to see @ what price & how many decide to purchase an update

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.
