Hey all!
So I'm having an issue with my GTX 970.
Every time I load my rig up, it either stays a black screen or shows the splash screen with static and then crashes with a green and sometimes a red screen.
My rig continues running but without any video.
I have to turn my rig off and wait about an hour for it to load and take me to the login screen.
Sometimes I can manage to play on it for around 20-40 minutes but then it happens again.
I cant play anything nor do anything without it doing this.
It never goes above 70 degrees Celsius.
I've tried sfc /scanow as well as DISM and there was no issues found.
I've also tried resetting my bios to default and even removing my CMOS battery with no success.
I've tried to use DDU and even rolling back my drivers with the same issue occurring.
I've tried resetting from a recovery point and reinstalling windows 10 completely.
I've tried updating my BIOS and nothing.
I've applied new thermal paste to it.
I've also tried to underclock it with MSI Afterburner and even EVGA Precision X with no success.
And yes, I have tried to change registry to TdrDelay 8 and TdrLevel 0 and even tried to use Debug mode in Nvidia Control Panel.
No, there is no dust because I clean it faithfully every day.
My PSU also seems to be fine.
My rig works with the iGPU but not with my GPU itself.
I unfortunately don't think I can RMA it because I've purchased it from someone on Facebook Marketplace.

Here are my specs:

MB: ASUS Z97-A 3.1USB
CPU: Intel i7-4790k
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0
RAM: Corsair XMS3 8GB(4x2)
PSU: EVGA 600W 80 PLUS

Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Time to try the card in another pc. See if the issue will follow it. If the issue follows the card to another rig then the card is faulty.

Yeah swap your card in another rig and if the issues persist then unfortunately your card may be "dying." It seems that for a lot of people who bought the 970s in 2014, various components are starting to fail around this time. Even if the GPU itself is OK, it may be a capacitor or a memory module or something that's starting to fail. But definitely try in another rig if able.

    /thread.
Sounds like you've been pretty thorough so far, hope you can pinpoint the issue soon.

Check the mosfets and VRMs, usually they have problems after a long live been used.
