I just got my GeForce GTX 1080 CLASSIFIED (08G-P4-6386-KR) and ever since I installed it, I've been getting much more noise on the audio in my system. Previously had a 780 Classified with no issues. What happens is when I startup a game (Battlefield 1 for example) the left audio channel will begin to receive a buzzing noise. The intensity changes based on what's happening in the game (black screen vs gameplay). Once again, no issues with my 780 GTX Classified that I had just before installed this card. Is this a known issue of the card?

Hello DFratiani and welcome to the Forums!

If your power supply has additional PCI power connectors I recommend swapping them for testing. This also may be what is known as coil whine. Coil whine has a tendency to manifest itself through different components or peripherals. A couple of things you can do to find if the source is coil whine are:

1. Test the product in another system or test the current system with another power supply unit. This can be the cause of the sound which can manifest itself through the graphics card or power supply.

2. If you are using a UPS (battery backup) or power strip try plugging directly into the wall outlet to see if this may resolve the issue.

If you have a moment, please rate my service. We appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm an old member from way back though.
Lots of changes to your website/forums/etc since 2006.

Anyway, It was the UPS.
APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 with battery pack.
Must be breaking down and injecting noise onto the power line.
Wall is crystal clear, even at 100% volume.

Active PFC compatible UPS? Back before I got one that was, my 780 Ti's buzzed like mad.

Not sure.
Only noticed this buzzing recently so I figure it's probably going bad.
I have an enterprise Smart-UPS 1000 that I'm testing now.
So far, so good.
