First off let me apologize that this has nothing to do with video cards. I am not the brightest person when it comes to Computers, i am trying to learn as I go. That said I recently had my motherboard crap out on my 2008 Dell Studio 540. I do not want to build my own computer, I feel like a newborn baby looking at computer reviews because I haven't been put in this spot for 7 years. I understand that anything over an Intel i5 is overkill. I mostly game and surf the web, what would ya'll recommended for a solid gaming PC. I appreciate your opinions and again apologize that this has noting to do with video cards

    OP,
There is no difference for "gaming" from an i5 4670k and an i7 4770k.  If you plan to primarily game on your PC, you do not need an i7.  You'll save around $100 by getting the i5, your gaming performance will be identical, and you can put that saved money into a higher end video card like the GTX 780ti.  What is your budget?

Check out the configurator for your budget.  As a gamer on a budget, look at Intel I3 or I5 for best longevity.

They are now what Alienware USED to be.

A friend likes to buy from Digital Storm and has been happy with them, Pretty sure Originpc is a notch higher end. Years ago I bought Cyberpower before I started building, and they are the reason I did start... worst experience ever... shipping the computer to me with a stick of dead ram was the least of it, I could have overlooked that. Isn't ibuypower the same people? No way I'll ever buy ANYTHING from them.

Unless you want to play the new Wolfenstein game with reported minimum requirements of a Quad-Core CPU with Hyperthreading or an 8-core CPU. Just a thought.

I'm not really comprehending $800 PC, so I may not be the one to talk to about it. Having said that, I wouldn't do it.
    Because:

    1. You said you already have a GPU and PSU, and prolly dvd and maybe even OS.

    2. This system upgradability is super limited.

If your are really that $ limited I would seriously think about building your own and using what you have. Even if I did do that I would be thinking of building something with a motherboard like the one in the Level 2 Virtue at least.

Not all gamers hate Windows 8. There are many members here that claim it is smoother for gaming than Windows 7. I just hate the silly looking tile interface.

Why do gamers hate windows 8, whats the problem?

"Why People Are Upset: Gabe Newell, head of Valve (the company that makes video game app store Steam), recently called Windows 8 a "catastrophe", and other game developers joined in synchronized chorus about how Windows 8 is going to destroy our firstborn children and gamers should just stick with Windows 7. Somehow this has led people to believe that gaming is horrible on Windows 8, Steam won't be supported, and that Microsoft is going to close off its system so you can only buy games in the App Store. None of these are true.P"

"Why It Isn't a Problem: In short: people are reading way too much into a few tiny comments. Gaming on Windows 8 is, well, the exact same as gaming on Windows 7.Performance is pretty much the same. Steam works just fine. Valve has made no claims that they won't support Windows 8, and Microsoft has made no claims that they're going to shut Valve out. Valve's anger is understandable—after all, the built-in Windows 8 Store will be a big competitor—but there's no evidence to support that gaming on Windows 8 will be any less than gaming on Windows 7.P"

There are no problems with Windows 8.1 for me. It has been just as stable as 7 was for me. Do yourself a favor and build your own PC. You will get a lot more for the money and who doesn't like the feeling of having created something? It is really pretty simple putting together a PC, like  a Lego set really.

You really should build your own. A Gateway or ASUS PC will be overpriced for what you can do on your own with a few hours of your time. You could easily afford the parts in the video I posted above and buy a less expensive video board and add a second for SLI or Crossfire later.

XrayMan moved the threads to Gaming. I would think they should be in General Hardware. OP created second thread after we convinced him it was cheaper to build your own PC and agreed to assist him with any problems during assembly.
