Hello everybody from Italy! I'm having issues with my 1080ti FTW3.
It started with sudden crashes while playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider with error 0x887A0006: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG
I looked for fixes online and tried everything, from lowering graphic settings (which buys me a few extra minutes of gameplay, but inevitably crashes when effects such as explosions or waterfalls are displayed), to clean install of drivers with DDU, roll back to previous game versions, previous drivers (436.30, 436.15, 436.02, 431.68 and 399.07 too which seemed to fix the problem for many users when it first occurred when the game was launched a year ago), clean install of the game, playing with precisionX oc installed and not, precision X1 installed and not, overclocking the gpu, keeping it at stock, blowing the fans at 100% (the temps are good, 65C at max).
Then I tried other games, like A Plague's Tale, Wolfenstein 2, Doom 2016, The Witcher 3 and found out that they after a few minutes of game they freeze and crash as well, with no error message though; sometimes I have to press the reset button.
A few days before the first crashes occurred, windows "forced" me to update to 1903, so I thought that maybe there was some conflict with the drivers. So I formatted and reinstalled Windows 10 ver1903 but nothing changed.
I tried some that some people suggested in this forum in posts (nvidia debug mode and boost lock in precision X1) with no result.
Do you think the problem is with the software? Or hardware? My gpu or psu?
My system is
i7-6700 non k,
ASrock H170 fatality
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 2133MHz
EVGA Supernova GS 650W
I play at 1440p 144hz on a Dell S2716DG
Thanks for your help!
