I'm guessing this will be the premier water block of this generation

It does look really nice. Keeping an eye on waterblocks. Haven’t water cooled a GPU yet...

He reported something ridiculous like 8c over delta or something like that. very impressive

anyways im surprised there isnt more attention on this thread because everyone keeps asking about waterblocks.
Optimus says the blocks are done they are just dialing in production/machining. Should be ready very soon

I'm just gonna go the safe route & either Hybrid cooler my card after eVGA puts them out, or just straight up sell my current 3080 FTW3 Ultra & order a Hybrid version once the queue is launched for them.  Not that I wouldn't love to have a full coverage block card, but the process of installing it makes me nervous.  Even though I've put countless computers together (and sometimes taken them apart & put them back together several times) myself, I'm still not comfortable specifically with GPU stuff.  I've only repasted GPUs a few times, and it was on blower-style cooler R9 290Xs, which had paste issues (I could tell by the temperature variance they were seeing in comparison to the other cards I had in a QuadFire setup), and that was quite a while ago now.
Maybe onea these days I'll take apart one of my old GPUs that I no longer use & put it back together with new paste, and see if it still works, get some experience on GPUs that ARE NOT $800+ lol

I just saw that. I wonder if the sold out versions were ever available. EK has some coming soon as well but these Optimus blocks look amazing. I talked to a guy who as their CPU block and he said out of several he has tried, the Optimus CPU block was the best performing. $400 is pretty steep but it looks like it's some high quality stuff.

Backplate is just a lazy design that misses an opportunity to allow for attaching a CPU waterblock or RAM waterblock for active cooling.

And guys...you need to optimize your design and not use a 5 pound lump of 1/2" thick copper that's just going to heatsoak anyways.  There's no reason to make a waterblock that thick and heavy (cause a case actually needs to be able to support this thing without needing a kickstand).  Same with the acrylic...it's not holding 5000psi of pressure it doesn't need to be 1/2" thick.

TBH, you're an idiot if you're spending $400 on a waterblock that practically will have the same performance as a $100 one.  "omg it's 3 degrees better!"...yeah, doesn't actually matter to benchmarks.

Placing a block on is pretty straightforward it's tearing it off and putting the stock cooler on it that is a pita. By the looks of it and how many failed cards you will be pulling it off for an rma in a week. 50/50 chance

Has anyone who has ordered there's from the first batch got theirs yet?  This company is infamous for missing ship dates by months, if they don't ship them before EK comes up with one, I'll cancel and get an EK.

Pretty curious about the performance of these Optimus waterblocks on the 3080 FTW3 cards.. and hoping someone here has a Optimus waterblock for it to share details.  I'm getting a CPU block for my 9900k (EK monoblock being used atm), and definitely thinking about getting the 3080 FTW3 block whenever the times comes.

I ordered both an AM4 water block and the 3080/3090 one.  After about 3 weeks of the AM4 one not shipping after showing in stock when ordered, I cancelled.  They may make nice looking stuff, but are horrible at communicating delays (which they continually have).

That's the thing.  There really aren't many options released on the market yet, so in the regard, Optimus isn't really behind anyone else at this point.

The Optimus AM4 block took about 3 months to arrive after I ordered it.  It showed as in stock when I ordered it.

Optimus has continually not met stated delivery times on many products.  I'm not sure if their 2080 ti blocks ever shipped.  Some people waiting for 2080 ti blocks had their orders switched to 3090 FTW3 blocks.

The twitter thread from their last updates about the FTW3 Blocks is turning ugly and it's completely deserved. As a consumer I feel 100% burned and will never do business with these guys again.

Statement today from Optimus. Apology for being late but no offer to compensate those who have waited. Even a stupid coupon or couple fittings would've made me feel better about this.
Alas, "sorry took your money, do better next time! Also, give us more money next time you need a bloc!"

Blocks are shipping! We really appreciate everyone hanging in there, the blocks have turned out incredibly well, the nickel finish is amazing and quality is even better than the first prototypes on GamersNexus. We're so excited to get them into your hands and systems!
As for delivery times, blocks ship as soon as we can assemble them, with earliest orders first. So while it's hard to give an exact ETA for a specific order, we'll be working through the holidays to fulfill all orders, with the tail of end of batch 2 at the this month.
As for the delays, the whole team really, really apologizes for the missed deadlines! This has been an incredibly challenging time but we hear your comments and advice and we're working to keep improving shipping times and customer service as we continue to make top performing blocks. Again, big apologies from the team!
UPCOMING BLOCKS: We will open up more FTW3 block orders at the end of this month once a new batch is fully in production. We're 100% focused on shipping FTW3 blocks right now, but end of this month we'll be finishing Strix prototyping and starting production in January. Strix, TUF, XC3, FE as well as Kingpin are all in line.
If you have any questions, please let us know!

Just heard from them about my order.

Batch 2 will not be shipping before Xmas. Means if you are in Batch 2 get ready to wait until some point in January 2021.

What a disaster, really disappointing. Should've taken my business elsewhere.

Its just typical optimus.  SOme of us tried to warn everyone of their reputation for constantly delivering products late.  Some people didn't believe me when I said some time in 2021 for delivery.
