Hi,
 
I purchased a 2080Ti on 13th and tried to register and get the game codes but the website says that the promotion has ended - while at the same time they are still promoting those games. This is false advertising since EVGS knows they don't have codes in stock and still publish about getting 3 games codes with purchase.
 
Anyone else was able to get the codes recently?

    Same thing happened to me earlier today. I called in and they said they were looking into it...hopefully we get something.

    Yeah, I feed EVGA should remove the promotion if they dont have codes. I could have bought the card from a different retailer for the same price and had the codes by now.

    Same...I thought it would be simpler to get the free games here, but apparently not lol. 
    I can't imagine they are out of codes a mere 15 days after the promotion started though...not like RTX cards are breaking sales records either.

    I talked to them on phone and the cust support was pretty pissed off about why am I asking for codes when they have run out. I pointed out that if you know you don't have codes, can you remove the promotion otherwise this is false advertising and he said it is what it is. I did not expect false advertizing from EVGA.

    They were pissed? And they confirmed they are out? 
    The guy I talked to was pretty nice but I didn't get any concrete info other than we will update you later...
     
    This sucks to be honest. Bad enough a mid range variant of the 2080Ti is almost $1250, but they can't even keep codes for some free games they advertised in stock for more than 2 freaking weeks? Much less keep the page with the advertisement for the promo updated?

    They confirmed they are out for now. I am annoyed about the codes not being there, but I am really pissed off by their attitude, blatant false advertising and their refusal to take the promotion down when they know they can't fulfill the promotion.

    I see you said for now...are they planning to refill the codes and give us the games, or did they not say?
     
    And I wholeheartedly agree. There should be no attitude about this. Seems a bit out of character for EVGA though, so maybe that tech just needs a attitude adjustment lol.

    Still doesn't excuse a rep being rude to you though. You might wanna talk to someone about that.

    First and foremost Nvidia controls the codes and the promotion.

    Next, typically when EVGA runs out, they put in a request for more codes from Nvidia. This isn’t an instant process, and Nvidia May take some time to provide them.

    I highly doubt customer support was upset that anyone asked about this. OP, you admit you are upset about the situation.. remember, the person on the phone is trying to help.

    It isn’t false advertising, as there will probably be a resupply of codes. Customer support typically are not the individuals that get the codes, higher up employees are the ones that get them and then the codes come back online. The promotion isn’t over.

    Oh look, SoulShot shows that the codes were refilled while I typed this.

    Like I said before, I was annoyed over codes being over (which apparently are now there), I was really taken aback by the attitude from customer support.
     
    But anyways, I would let this matter to rest, maybe the customer support guy was a bad day. Happens to the best of us :)
