My gtx1080ti has been acting up for a while but I only noticed it in intensive games (destiny 2, hunt showdown and wolcen). In destiny 2 i use to get error broccoli but in hunt and Wolcen i get the DX device hung error. After reading some threads on the forum, i decided to check my card and noticed that it runs at 1970mhz from default (no manual OC) which makes it unstable. I left it running fire strike graphic test 2 for 10 minutes and it crashes showing some artefacts.
However setting my clock to -100mhz or using Nvidia debbuging seems to solved the issue. Does this mean there is something wrong with my card? or is the nvidia boost 3.0 unstable?
My PC is:
AMD Ryzen 1700 @3.9GHz
16GB RAM @3200 G skill Tridentz
Asus X370 F gaming
Any help would be appreciated.
My warranty should still be valid until september, should I RMA?

Is this a new build or a GPU upgrade ?

Windows set to performance ...Windows fast startup turned off ?

What is running in the background ?

Running separate 8-pin wires from PSU to your GPU ?  (try different cables & output from PSU)

How old is the PSU ?

Your PC .. PSU, MB, CPU & RAM could be unstable as you have it set in BIOS --> Make sure the BCLK is Not OC

GPU ... OC [even stock Nvidia Boost 3.0] Requires a stable system - Rock solid

Step 1 - set your PC to default (Non OC) settings ... so RAM turn Off XMP .... Now Test CPU, MB & RAM

BIOS on MB up to date ?

    Drivers up to date ?

Which Nvidia Driver & any changes to Nvidia Control Panel ?

GPU-Z ... what do you see in the sensor tab while it is running the benchmark ?

    OS up to 1909 ?

    Temps? Room, GPU, CPU.....

Run DDU and do a Clean install of just the Nvidia GPU driver & PhysX

Basic troubleshooting steps. Windows clean boot, clean driver install, debug mode, etc.

Could be as simple as a loose / poorly seated PSU wire

Everything in bold above points to the fact that you should RMA the card immediately.

Based on your post that using the Debug mode increased the stability, odds are the GPU is failing and you should RMA.

Is this a new build or a GPU upgrade ? It's my old build, had this pc for nearly 3 years, same with the GPU bought it new in September 2017.

Windows set to performance ...Windows fast startup turned off ? Windows is set to high performance, fast startup is grey out, can't select it.

What is running in the background ? steam, nvidia geforce experience, norton, discord

Running separate 8-pin wires from PSU to your GPU ?  (try different cables & output from PSU) will try this, currently only using 1 cable

How old is the PSU ? September 2017, Seasonic SSR-650FX FOCUS Plus Gold 650W

Your PC .. PSU, MB, CPU & RAM could be unstable as you have it set in BIOS --> Make sure the BCLK is Not OC - I've set it to default no OC, no XMP profile on

GPU ... OC [even stock Nvidia Boost 3.0] Requires a stable system - Rock solid - GPU is factory settings haven't OC it

Step 1 - set your PC to default (Non OC) settings ... so RAM turn Off XMP .... Now Test CPU, MB & RAM

BIOS on MB up to date ? I haven't updated in years, I was told to avoid it unless needed

Drivers up to date ? All drivers up to date, also a clean windows install

Which Nvidia Driver & any changes to Nvidia Control Panel ? Drivers 446.14, and all set as default (note that i was having this problem with destiny 2 for a very ong time but this seem to have been solved now)

GPU-Z ... what do you see in the sensor tab while it is running the benchmark ? http: //gpuz.techpowerup.com/20/06/03/puj.png    http: //gpuz.techpowerup.com/20/06/03/c72.png
Just ran the test and the screen was flashing like mad, never seen that before i managed to record it, it's on youtube, the crash was also recorded.  https:// www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlUF4nJhfmw

OS up to 1909 ? Yes, fresh install and all up to date.

Temps? Room, GPU, CPU..... room approx 20°C, CPU temps max 37.5°C GPU temps Max 74°C

Run DDU and do a Clean install of just the Nvidia GPU driver & PhysX - It's all clean already.

It's been 12 days since i filled in my RMA ticket and it still has not been approved. I even called them last week to get more information and again today. Now the site is showing that my RMA has expired and that i'll be placed at the back of the queue for the RMA list even though I applied on the 5th of June for one.

Is EVGA customer service usually this poor?

Yep, their customer service sent me a confirmation email today to confirm that it should be approved by tomorrow evening. So yeah it was on EVGA's end not mine.
