well the title says it all. it was working fine some time ago, then sometime around my windows 10 64 bit update or GPU update sometime around there this started.
im using 3 monitors so figured maybe that might have been the issue, so i installed my 760 with my 970 to use the 760 for monitors, and for physx, this did not fix the problem. this is very inconvenient. any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. this is a new issue, been trying things and idk what to do about it. 970 gpu temp rarely reaches 70-72C i made sure power supply cables were connected completely, i ran it with fan speed at 100% in game, still did it. i cant really find a good forum/video for this particular issue. thanks in advance!

When it goes grey or black, does the image ever properly return, or do you have to shutdown and turn the computer back on to return to normal functionality? If the image returns without restarting the computer, it may be a simple monitor or display cable issue. On the other hand, if you have to completely turn the computer off and turn it back on to restore normal functionality, that typically indicates that the GPU is failing. "Crashing" or "freezing" to a solid color, if not a monitor or cable issue, usually indicates that the power delivery circuitry on the card has detected a fault.

it comes back after a short while. the 970 is pretty much brand new, bought it used under warranty, had some issues and contacted evga, they gave me an RMA card and it was working fine for the longest time, then out of the blue with happens. i got 2 monitors running on my 760 and 1 on my 970. all 3 will flicker, go grey, then black, and boom back to showing what i was doing. i just checked all the video cables, both ends, gpu and monitor side, and they are all firmly secured. i just did a gpu driver rollback to the previous one to see if maybe that was what was causing it. as soon as im able to do some games i will let you know if the issue persist.

Sounds like a windows update did something to your system. Time to use system restore to restore the pc to a day when everything was working correctly.

Oh, all three monitors do it and the image comes back? Hmm. That doesn't sound like a faulty video card, monitor, or cable. Sounds like a software or driver issue.

well im talking to a windows agent and yeah this is dumb. its past the 10 day roll back so GG to me!. hate windows. almost wanting to go ubuntu or linux or something. this is rediculous.. why the hell would someone give you a measly ass 10 day rool back chance?

ok so i talked to windows did some things to try and fix it and only played for about an hr but so far no issues. so hopefully its fixed

welp thought it was fixed, happened again this time different.. i have my 2 extra non gaming monitors running off of my 760, with my main gaming monitor on my 970 ssc and this time only my gaming monitor went blank..
