Hi

I recently had my PCs mobo, Wifi adapter and PSU replaced.  It has been stable again, but now the graphics card seems to be playing up.  A month or so ago I was playing Half-Life 2 when the screen froze but the rest of the game played on.  Windows reported a Hardware error.  a few weeks later I was playing Wolfenstein: The Old Blood and it crashed to desktop, with an OpenGL error.  In the last two days I have experienced two crashes within Firefox while playing YouTube Videos.  The Browser window went completely blank and Event Viewer reported TDR errors on both occasions.  I have no idea what is going on.  This card is a replacement card.  I don't want to replace it again.  Any ideas?

Turn off hardware acceleration in your Browser.
    For Firefox

    For IE 11

I'll try that.  I'll also see if it does the same in Chrome.  DDU didn't fix the issue either, nor did a fresh reinstall of Windows 10.  Hopefully this issue is just a bug with Firefox.

That got replaced with a 650W EVGA Supernova unit.

DDU didn't fix the problem, and the card is running at the stock clock frequency (not overclocked), as is the CPU.

If underclocking the gpu stops the problem your gpu will need to be rma'd again.

Hopefully I won't need to RMA it again.  I'm hoping that it's just a bug with Firefox.

If you can would you post an image of where in Chrome this settings is set.

Time to test some other browsers. Games have been working fine since replacing the psu & mobo?

Games having been working fine.  I've been playing them for a couple of hours on end and no issues.  Wolfenstein: The Old Blood did crash as did Half-Life 2 but no other game has crashed on me since.  Titanfall 2 used to crash all the time when the card was overclocked and I suspect DOOM had issues with the OC'ing as well.   I will give Chrome a try this time around.  I have had numerous issues with this computer - the video card has been replaced, the optical drive has been replaced, four water pumps have been replaced and now the mobo, PSU and Wi-Fi adapter.  Turns out the old PSU was a 600W Zalman unit and I wonder if it had been damaging the other components as it seems odd that so much has been going wrong.

Yes, it's possible the old psu could have been damaging other parts of your system if the ripple was out of spec.

I'll get in touch with my PC builder and tell them that it might be best to replace all original components, including the video card.  I'm starting to suspect that the old PSU is part of the issue, and Zalman comes across as cheap and nasty anyway.

Well, it's started up again.  DOOM randomly froze (aside from the music) but no error logs could be found in either the DOOM log folder or Windows Event Viewer.  Bioshock Remastered also randomly crashed with a black screen, ultimately crashing the game itself.  Again, it was a TDR error - Event Viewer logged two identical 117 errors as well as a display driver has stopped responding and has recovered error.

I had to turn off acceleration in all of my browsers, including IE, which I never use.
It stopped the hitching when scrolling up and down.
But, I had to turn it off in all 3 browsers to get it to stop doing that in just 1 browser (I am certain that all browsers share some cache or something, or it would have worked just turning 1 off instead of all 3, but wjat do I know? :P ).
    Never had a freeze though.

I still use 355.82 for my 900 cards   may need to fish them around for the one that you get the best results from on your rig and needs

    good luck
