I have a Geforce GTX 660 that is struggling to keep up with the latest games. I'm thinking of buying the new GTX 960 but the specs don't seem to be much better than my GTX 660. Do you think the GTX 960 would be a worthwhile upgrade for me anyway?
Also, I notice that the GTX 960 supports Microsoft DirectX 12 in the upcoming Windows 10 OS. How important do you suppose that will be? Most of last years games began to require DirectX 11 so even a pretty good card that only supported DX 10 was immediately rendered obsolete. Will that also be the case for DX 12 in a couple years? My current system specs:
HP Envy 700-430qe
Windows 8.1 x64
i7-4790CPU@ 3.60Mhz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 660
PSU: Corsair GS700
RAM: 12.0 GB
