Hi All,
Just building new PC (Win10 Pro, 1903), threw my 780 in there that I've had for ages, but never used (long story). Windows leaves it stuck at 800x600, and when installing drivers, suddenly get blue artifacting, and on reboot windows seems to crash on startup and then reboot with drivers disabled.
Curious if there's much to do? I have a ticket in with evga to see about repair, but I'm guessing it'll be out of warranty. I've looked at baking it, which, okay. I can do that. I also have reflow hardware so I could just reflow the ram if that's often the issue. I'm also curious if there would be any point in maybe throwing the stock nvidia firmware on the card (it's got 80.10.3A.00.80 on there now)... which, I believe that's slickly overclocked from stock. But I'm not sure that's even something that card will support.
Thoughts? Options? I have a 1070 on the way incase I can't get the card up and going again (and just because), but I hate throwing away hardware, so I'd love to get it working for something else.

Boo. okay.
Going to wait until I get confirmation from EVGA first, obviously.
Anyone tried adding flux to ram chips or anything prior to baking? Other thought was maybe confirm I completely forgot overclocking it and downgrade back to stock firmware. But at least z-gpu doesn't report some of the data (since the card isn't working). =/

Try using an Old Nvidia Driver for your Card --->Nvidia has moved away from supporting older hardware in the newer drivers

How "old" is old? I'm on 1903, so I can't imagine a really old driver is going to work in modern windows 10 install. =/

Try using an Old Nvidia Driver for your Card --->Nvidia has moved away from supporting older hardware in the newer drivers
The 780 is still supported on the latest drivers.

Some of the older cards had long warranties. If you registered the video card check the warranty expiration date.

Is CSM Enabled in the Bios or Disabled in the Bios?
For my 780 I had to Enabled it in the Bios to stop the Code 43.

Not sure about CSM, but I'll check.
That said, EVGA said it was out of warranty. Knowing that piece, I went for it and baked it. Cleaned it all up, took everything off, put in a toaster oven I have for PCBs for about 10 mins at 200C, and let it cool completely. Put all back together, and it works!
I have no delusions about how long it will work (maybe a long time, maybe a few weeks/months), but it does work. I did notice before baking that the PCB looked "warped". It now looks a little bent back toward the power connector, but the rest of the board looks flat. If it fails again I'll throw some flux on there and use my hot air station to actually reflow the ram. Or just buy some new ram chips. =/ Not going to throw the thing away until I KNOW it's dead and unfixable.

Nice if you fix GTX780.
It's much nicer feeling when you fix then RMA.
Only RMA advantage is because manufacturer test and send you working GPU.
Try to keep card cold as much as you can and don't overclock. In every game leave fan 100%.
