Does this card support UEFI secureboot? There's a motherboard I'm looking at buying (ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS) and someone in the comments says there's a fastboot feature only supported by graphics cards with "UEFI secureboot". Thanks

Yes. It will, however, require a firmware update after you receive the card. Just contact EVGA Support, and they can email you the needed firmware, provided you are using Windows 8 and your motherboard supports UEFI.

sneak310 I'm using Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate, will that be acceptable too? The secure boot feature is only for Windows 8 machines, UEFI motherboards and video cards. If you are running Windows 7 there would be no need for the UEFI update. However if you ever update to Windows 8 let us know and we can assist with emailing you the updated firmware.

Alright thanks, and a little bit of reading and personal research would have answered my question, sorry if I wasted any time.

sneak310 Alright thanks, and a little bit of reading and personal research would have answered my question, sorry if I wasted any time. That's one way to look at it. Another way to look at it is that someone with the same question may stumble upon this thread and save themselves the trouble of asking those questions because you did. The only dumb question is the one you didn't ask, and wish you had.

sneak310.. Just some comments. I own this board as well. win7x64. Runnng latest BIOS 0901. The BIOS has separate setting for secure boot and fastboot. Can be enabled/disabled separately. I initially built the machine with a vanilla 650. Board has no problem with with EVGA cards/win7x64 as secure boot would not be used. My boot drive is an intel 520 SSD. Power button to Desktop is 27 sec. In all honesty, fastboot is nothing more that marketing hype that uses existing technology, glamified MS config (system Start) or hibernate (wake from S3 state). If I walk into the room, tap the keyboard or wiggle the mouse, the system is ready to go before I can even sit down. If you use an SSD as your boot drive, you don't need any of the "Asus Desktop Enhancements"... SMART response, fastboot... etc. But thats for you to decide. The LE Plus is a great "sleeper" board. The BIOS features alone continue where my z68 left off. Great addition to my household.

That will be a great system. BIOS is highly overclockable if your into that. You can also do SLI with a second boost somewhere down the road.
