I just started looking into If I should keep my GTX 295 or buy the new GTX 480. There's allot of knowledge around here so I figured to ask some of you about your opinions, pros and cons between the GTX 295 vs.GTX 480. I know its early but at the least it would be interesting to read about. I am wondering if one GTX 480 will give me any more benefit than a GTX 295. It looks as if there's less memory on the 480. Any input and why you think one would be better over the other will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

ok firstly do you need DX11, if not there really is no point upgrading yet, there was not much of a performance gain yet from the 480,maybe with some driver updates we will see the 480 pulling away

also the gtx480 has more memory than the 295 as the it is sli so that memory effectively is halved between the 2 gpus

im loving that case you have there

Like Fusionssl asked do you want DX 11, the extra eye candy in game, do you want a card that is a little faster than your current one, but have the feel of no microsutters in games, extra video ram in a single gpu. The 480 GTX is a great card for what your getting for 500 dollars its not going to go down in price anytime soon unfortunatly prob not untill fall.  But yeah there you have a fast rundown of the card.

If a single 480 can almost or equally compete with a 295 even if it is a duel GPU card then I would go that way. Between having the DX11 and the extra memory I might be better off going with a GTX400 then. Thanks for the input.

I do want the DX11 and eye candy in game, absolutely.
A little faster single card with no microstutters and extra video ram? That just sold me on it.
    Thank you..Great rundown. :)
