GTX 285 SSC with GTX 295 backplate

I attempted to mount a 295 backplate on my EVGA GTX 285 SSC a while back, and these were the results - not particularly pretty, but some improvement over the plain PCB. This really made no significant difference to temperatures (maybe 1-2°C less under load at best), but I was trying it more for aesthetic reasons anyway. You can see from the first image the the 4 central screws around the GPU were a perfect fit, however only 2 of the other screw holes lined up, and both were at the fan end of the card.



I removed the unused metal screw mounts from the backplate and put small rubber mounts at various places so the backplate did not contact any of the circuitry. I later tried mounting a 275 backplate on the 285 SSC card with a little more success (check it out here). Here's the card installed with the 295 plate :

    Yup. This thread is with the 295 backplate, the other thread is with the 275 backplate. They were done originally at different times and posted that way on the old forums, so I just carried it over here.. although I suppose it would make more sense to have them on the same thread. *shrug* too late now.
