So anybody know if it's true about having to pay like $69 per month for a year to be able to buy the 1180ti and having to take a trip to California and so on? I read this just yesterday that if you don't do all this, then you won't be able to unlock the full potential of the card, which is crazy for Nvidia to expect anybody to pay that a month or do any of that. I seriously hope that is a hoax. I know not much is really known yet, but read that and was like (Deleted for Foul Language)

lol. Where did you read that? The next card is going to be the 1180, and not the 1180 ti.

Clearly a joke the Ti has always been released as a refresh of the card ever since the GeForce 3 like 20 years ago.

Nothing like posting a bad April Fools Joke -- which was repeatedly stated as an April Fools Joke in the link provided -- more than 2 months later.

IF NVIDIA sticks to their release history the next gen card GTX 1180 (or whatever it will be called) will be released first. Months later a GTX 1180ti will probably be released.

Yes the Ti is always better. nVidia will milk the people with the 1180 first for $730-$750 and then drop the Ti months later at the same price to keep the price high all the time. Sad people don't just sit and wait for the Ti model and let nVidia sit will a bunch of 1180's on their hands.

Yes, but it's important to understand that the "Ti" isn't just letters added to a 'base model' like EVGA's FTW models; x80 and x80 Ti are different cards entirely.

GTX780 was the only exception, used a cut-down GK110 from the first Titan, which showed up in the 780 Ti and Titan Black.  From then on, GTX980 used GM204 while GTX980 Ti used GM200 (used in Titan-X), and GTX1080 used GP104 while GTX1080 Ti used GP100 (used Titan-Xp).

Right now, there is a GV100 GPU in Titan-V with 5120 CUDA cores, it isn't full die though, it's missing a cluster for a total of 5376 CUDA cores.  So we can guess that the next 1180 Ti may reuse the same 5120 CUDA while another Titan-V will have the full die.  It's how nVidia milks the market, as kram36 says.

As for when the GTX1180 Ti could come, look to AMD rumors, as nVidia waits until AMD's next flagship is within 1-2 months of debut and then they preempt it.  This strategy has worked three times in a row over the last few years.  Right now, AMD's best RX Vega 64 is slower than GTX1080 Ti, and it contributes to why nVidia has been dragging their feet on new releases.  They are a business after all, they make new products to keep our attention away from a competitor, but if the competitor doesn't try hard, then it's going to be a cruel summer.
