I believe that kit is setup for a different die size therefore I would believe it wouldn't work, or not optimally at the very least.

Have you considered a 3rd party AIO? NZXT Kraken G12 seems to be a popular mounting choice with various AIOs.

I have thought of it but I want to keep the GeForce led logo but seems harder to find the 1080ti AIO than I thought

I would say most likely you would be fine to do it. If youre good at modding, or at least decent and clever, you could make it work with a custom ring mount at the very least IF theres a issue. What youre trying to do is exactly what i did with my 780 FE and a 980ti hybrid kit and it worked fine right out of the box. I modded the whole setup anyway cause im a mod/hardware junkie and i cant help myself. Just to satisfy my own curiosity, i took the block from the 980ti kit and matched it up to every series card down to the 8800 GTS 320 and they all have the same mounting hole dimensions, so i could have put that hybrid kit on any card from the 9xx series all the way down. Now, there could be a few outliers here and there but as far as all the 60-80/90 cards go it would fit. So my guess is in your situation it would probably work, but i havent done it with the two your asking about so i cant say for sure.

The is no longer the case. It used to be the same spacing up to the Pascal. Turing and Ampere, do not use the same hole spacing around the die.
    Here's the spacing for Turing

The GTX 1080 Ti hole spacing is 58.4 x 58.4mm

So I just installed the nzxt g12 with h80i cooler and the temps are rising too quick to even do anything. The pump is running and all as I can hear it but it’s not cooling what am I doing wrong?

Did I do the screws too tight or too loose? Did I plug the fans to the wrong pin connection?

About the only way to tell, is to take it apart and make sure you have good even coverage and squeeze out on all four corners equally so that you know the cooler was mounted flat with the die. You should not need more than 20 inch pounds torque on the screws.

I’ll have to give it another try once my thermal paste and cleaning solution comes in. It seems like it’s making good contact, if it isn’t though the temperature would be rising that fast and stabilises at a specific temp but this one it just keeps rising past 85c before I switch it off

Might sound silly but have you also checked the fan speed on the rad?
