Just finally finished upgrading my son's rig fro. A 1080 to the ftw3 hybrid I got like 3 weeks ago!

I had to re do his gpu water cooling.

Anyways. Here I think he did get a better card thrn my ftw3 elite on a ek block!

Was in a hurry and just did a quick few benchmarks before overclocking and the thing was boosting st 2000mhz default settings.. super low temps of 24 idle and 30's on load which I am still shocked over.

Here I just did a quick +60 and +500 clock to 2050mhz and the thing is runing it and laughing at me cause its only using 1.044v!!! Hahaha hahaha

34-36c tops while gaming. Stupid nuts.

Can't bench it higher as it's time to get ready to go to dinner.


I hope those smart enough to grab a ftw3 hybrid get there cards sooner then later!

I dunno about the DDU thing... several years ago when NVIDIA's drivers were a mess, it wasn't just a good idea to run DDU (or its equivalent according to the timeline),it was pretty much a requirement. Nowadays, however, it seems like NVIDIA has really gotten its act together; drivers are much more stable, not nearly as messy, and don't leave behind detritus when you either uninstall them or change to a new card.
 
I was on an old EVGA 290 card when I upgraded to a GTX 980 in Feb of 2015. Prior to swapping out the cards, I downloaded the latest driver (for use after I put in the new card), uninstalled the current driver, turned off the PC, popped out the old 290, plugged in the 980, booted, then installed the new driver. Haven't had a problem in 3 years. :)
 
Sometimes those driver cleaner utilities get a bit overzealous.

An I'm Back! Tonight I'll test things on a Mechwarrior Online and tomorrow I'll try out DiVinci Resolve 14 and HitFilm Pro

I think you should use that picture for your avatar. It has nothing to do with the fact that when I called my wife into the den to see your tragic (yet hilarious) misfortune, she was quoted as saying, "what a handsome man" when she saw your avatar. No, it is solely based on the humorus value of said tragedy.
 
Fortunately, they have yet to match that tread to any vehicles in my neighborhood.

I'm still having update problems but I don't think it's related to this fancy pants new 1080Ti... It's deeper than that. I've got a support ticket open with Microsoft so now it can be properly ignored!.

Mechwarrior Online was fantastically smooth and great looking at 3840x1600 75Hz at 60+ FPS max settings. Weeeeeee!

DaVinci Resolve definitely works now... I don't have enough of the project in it to know when or if it will bog down but I'll know next week.
