Is this compatible with other brands besides EVGA? I have a gigabyte 1080 extreme water force, which I am regretting buying. It leaked and caused a short on the motherboard. The system shut itself off and I just had the CPU checks and it was working fine. looking over at gigabytes forums, it seems I made a big mistake going with them on this computer. At this time I would like to avoid using DIY water cooling.

I am looking at rebuilding the system using the EVGA Z270 stinger mb.

400-HY-5188-B1 should work on any 1070/1080 FE based card. 400-HY-5598-B1 should work on any 1080 ti FE based card.

I reviewed the instruction manual and due to the way gigabyte designed their cards, it is not compatible. Instead of having the mounting holes around the processor, they have resisters there.
