So I'll start off by saying that my card is currently working, albeit not in the capacity that it was originally working in. When I first bought the card a couple years ago, it ran perfectly fine with temps that did not exceed 45C under the heaviest of loads with a 70F ambient in my room. Now, the card reaches 80C with the same ambient under the same levels of load. I've completely cleaned the radiator as thorough as physically possible and even replaced the stock fan with a pair of 3000 RPM Noctua fans in push-pull, but temperatures are still around 80C. The radiator is too hot to touch, and the tubing itself feels hot. Thinking air was trapped in the pump, I've jostled the radiator around to try to get fluid back to the pump, but nothing has worked. Before I attempted to RMA, I wanted to know if high thermals was a justifiable reason to do so. The card itself still works, I am just worried about running a CLC with temperatures this high. I would replace the thermal paste, but the design of the FTW3 Hybrid cooler is pretty intimidating to disassemble due to the potential risk to kill the card during reassembly, details for which can be found in this thread: . If anyone has this card and has experienced similar issues, is there a specific solution I am overthinking? Or were you able to get an RMA replacement under these grounds? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Is one hose hotter than the other ---> indicates pump has flow "radiator too hot to touch" ---> seems to indicate the cards heat is being moved to the radiator Speed of fan inside the Card is set to ? Screen shots of the Card's Temp sensors would help Rig Specs, including Case & fan setup

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll get that info as soon as I get home from work. I don't know if the orientation of the card is causing an issue. I am using a vertical GPU mount on a Thermaltake Core P3 chassis, but I had to mount the radiator lower than the pump to accommodate my CPU's pump/res combo on the chassis. If that is the issue, I may need to source a different chassis to get the radiator above the pump. EDIT: Forgot my rig specs. Motherboard: ASRock Z370 Fatality K6 CPU: 8700k @ 5.2ghz delidded CPU Cooler: Custom Heatkiller Loop (1260mm MO-RA3 Radiator, EK D5 Pump/Res combo, Heatkiller Pro IV Intel 115x block, 18 x Corsair Maglev 140mm fans in push/pull) GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrid w/ Noctua 3000rpm Industrial Black Fan RAM: 4x16GB G Skill 3600 C19 DDR4 RAM (OC'd to 3866 C15-15-15-30-2) Chassis: Thermaltake Core P3 Power Supply: EVGA 750W G3 Supernova The GPU radiator is on the bottom right of the image, sadly this is the only image I have on my phone at this time. The GPU is mounted vertically. Ignore the pink fan, it's only used to cool the VRM during heavy bench sessions.

Thermal take Core P3 May have to test by moving the Rad Above GPU Still my EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrids - do pump quite abit heat out the back of the card in addition to the radiator .. I run an aggressive fan Curve Curious what your fans speed is for the fan inside the Card - (not the radiator)

Last night I set my internal GPU fan to 100%. It's quite loud due to the open frame design of the chassis, but it didn't make too much difference for the actual core temp. It likely helped the VRM temps though, but I never tested a before and after. I'll get more information as soon as I get home. I do appreciate the help thus far though. I was just concerned with how hot the card has been getting lately, and my first thought was the stock thermal compound pumping out. I had a 1080 Ti Hybrid prior to this card, and ended up killing it during reassembly, so I am hesitant to take it apart. If I could source an FTW3 water block, I would integrate the GPU into my CPU's loop, but those blocks are extremely hard to come by. If this is indeed a justifiable reason to request a warranty replacement, I would probably ask that they send a non-AIO if at all possible. Reference PCB's are much easier to buy blocks for.

Use some Zip ties to temp mount the radiator - below that top back standoff that holds the plexiglass - if it works make a bracket you can see my 1080 Ti FTW3 Hybrids in this thread https://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2767359

I appreciate the insight. I'll give that a try. If all else fails, I'll proceed with the RMA process and let EVGA investigate the card. If they determine it to be faulty, then I'll wait for a replacement. Thanks again for all your help.

Wanted to update you on the situation. I decided to tear the card down and replace the stock paste with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and mounted the radiator above the pump with your zip tie method. With an ambient room temp of 70C, the card does not exceed 38C while gaming at 4k 120hz on Archeage Unchained and does not exceed 45C in Overwatch at the same resolution/refresh rate. I gotta say, the card feels like it did when it was brand new. Was even able to use my 2100mhz overclock/undervolt profile again, which stopped working several months ago. Thanks a ton Cool GTX!

Happy to Help btw: I'm never Visiting you if your room is 70C I know its a typo - could not resist Game ON

I'm starting to have a similar issue with mine. I think the pump might be dying. It used to idle at around 34c. For about a week or so I started getting freezes during gameplay. I checked the temp and it's idling at 55c (room temp is 25c - 26c). GPU temp shoots up to 70c after a few minutes of playing a game and eventually freezes around 85c. The radiator is extremely not to the touch. Setup hasn't changed for the past two years. I have an aircooled 1080ti FTW3 in the same room that never full loads above 70c. I don't think I'm going to get a hybrid card again. It's not EVGA's fault but just a general issue with AIO and maybe Asertek as their older pump design seems to have problems after a year or two. I recently had similar issues with my Thermaltake AIO and that uses an Asertek gen 4 pump.
