Hi All,
Hoping someone can help me please.

The GTX 1080 worked fine up until a week ago, windows wouldn't detect it and wouldn't boot up on start up. Now by replacing the 8 pin gpu connecter cable with a 6 pin connecter cable -  the white GPU  lights up and I can see it windows device manager, but won't boot up. I have tried,

  • Different PSU
  • Several different 8 pin and 6+2 pin connecters - PCIE (All GPU none CPU)
  • 2 different cards in the PC and works fine
  • Alternative PCI slots
I am lost now but not given up as I don't understand how it will show on windows device manager, but do nothing else. All fans works, white light with 6 pin.

Whatever part of the GPU PWM that is using the +12v from the PCIe cable has failed.  You could disassemble the GPU and check to see if their are any physically damaged parts that failed. If not, backing may revive it.
There are no repair options available from EVGA.

    EVGA X99 FTWK / i7 6850K @ 4.5ghz / RTX 3080Ti FTW Ultra / 32GB Corsair LPX 3600mhz / Samsung 850Pro 256GB / Be Quiet BN516 Straight Power 12-1000w 80 Plus Platinum / Window 10 Pro

There are some repair shops that can try and repair the card provided the GPU chip itself is not damaged. If you are in the USA Northridgefix.com is one company. I do not know what charges they will bill you for this service, but it won't be cheap. If you are really good with a soldering iron and a magnifying glass there are also countless videos on YouTube.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

Have you tried replacing your power supply?Could it be caused by unstable power supply?
