GTX 1080 SC came without backplate

Hello guys, I'm new here!

I just got my hands on a GTX 1080 (damn they are hard to find nowadays!) but this model came without a backplate.

I believe it's a chinese model of the GTX 1080 SC ACX 3.0 (08G-P4-5186-KR) and I was surprised when it came with a naked PCB.

Should I return it? I can't find affordable 1080s in my country specially from EVGA but I spent a lot and I'm a bit worried.

I don't care about the looks, I just mind about that rigid and sag stuff I have read about.

    I think it will be hard to find this kind of product around here (or maybe I didnt get the idea of the fix).

    This sag thing will only happen to VGAs without backplate? In this example his VGA seems to have one. I mean, in theory, the backplate would just add more weight and worse the problem.

    Will I have problems missing a backplate or is just for aesthetic purposes?

    Mostly, Backplate are aesthetic.
    In some cases, it might help a little in heat dissipation.
    For what I was looking, 08G-P4-5186-KR is a GTX 1080 F.E. with the ACX 3.0 heatsink.
    It might be possible to install the EK backplate for this one.

    Well, it seems that the backplate is more important than I thought. Better I get my refund while I can because these solutions are more expensive than buying a better card.

    The adapter to prevent card say is something someone can buy and make from the hardware store for like $2.50.. if you need it. Ive never used one.

    Can even use some Lego blocks hehe.

    I actually returned it. It is a very expensive product to come without a backplate and I don't wanna try anything else to make up for it.

    Backplates don't cost too much.  You  could just buy a cheap kit online.
