Hey guys,

got a very serious coil whine problem. Under load (like games or e.g. heaven benchmark) the graphics card produces this coil whine. Got a 750W Supernova G3. After some researching i tried to monitor the 12V reading of the PSU under load. It fluctuates between 12.099V and 12.164V. The funny thing is that I had whits problem also with my old GPU and 2 other PSUs. So could this time be my PSU faulty or could something else like for example the mainboard be the problem?

Best regards
Alex

What are you using for a power strip, ups?
Possible to try a different outlet on a different breaker in your house?

If the problem has persisted with different power supplies and GPU's there must be an external influence like poor grounds / grounding causing dirty power.
Maybe try your system at a friends house

Using a 10 times power strip from Brennenstuhl.
I will give your suggestion a go after my exams. Maybe that will solve my issue...
    Thanks btw!

Besides the building's wiring, outlet, or power strip, yes, it could also be the motherboard. You tried multiple video cards and multiple power supplies. Was the motherboard the same the whole time? Or it could just be that each video card had coil whine.

No, I had a Asus Prime when I had my 1060. Tested the 1060 also on my current motherboard. But it got worse with the 1070 Ti...
