Congrats, would be interested to see if there is much if any performance difference between it and the SC.

As i am not a fan of the very flawed PPD estimating system, since we don't get the same work units constantly, I have been watching my PPD over the last 96 hours.. 551k average at this time. I am folding only on a single 1070 FTW with no further overclock other than the factory overclock. I will check occasionally and get better numbers as the month goes along, but like I said, the PPD estimate from FAH is consistently wrong, since it always showing around 660k ppd estimated. 550 is no where near 660 in my books.

you guys are both getting numbers that seem like what i was getting before i made my GPU run in PCI-E 3.0 and 1900MHz your gpu's are boosting up to ~1900 and not sitting around 1550 right?

Could it be a difference between running at x16 and x4?

I'm getting ~650k PPD with my 1070 in PCI-E 2.0 (2600k wont allow 3.0)

in short, if you want 100% GPU utilization you'll have to open a youtube video, pause it, and leave it there. otherwise it will drop right back down to ~60%.
 
i did this test after doing the clean driver install again when i got home, just to double make sure no issue there, and i also removed my second monitor, just to eliminate another variable.
 
EDIT: i think i'll run a couple units tonight after doing that workaround thing and see if and by how much the PPD may change.

Did you find any other way around for this? My gtx 1070 is hovering around 75-80 % utilization. Youtube trick didn't work.

Try opening the protein viewer, thats what i have been using lately.

I tried that, too. 
I used Precision X to push the card to max power target, didn't happen. It folded overnight and when I checked in the morning I saw that the power target percentage was up from 75-80% to 95-110%. I have no idea why and how that happened. 
Probably this utilization issues will get solved when NVidia gets some competition and unlocks "true power if pascal" with their future drivers... ;)
 

Its basically the same thing i was seeing but in reverse. With nothing running the gpu was not boosting to 1960 but when i start the protein viewer or a youtube video it would then boost. I think its either a windows issue or an issue with gpu boost on the latest series of cards.

It does but if you go back and look at the video the power usage and clock speeds would consistently change while doing the same unit.

That was way back in June...surely a driver bug at the time when Pascal was in it's infancy?
 
No trouble with clock frequency boosting. It will sit at 2138mhz all day....species, are aware that the latest drivers are unstable for folding? 373.06 is the last one that works until it gets fixed

Which card do you have and how do you OC it to 2138?

FYI, my two 1070's are at 687K and 647K PPD over about 100 wu's each.  One runs at about 2002MHz and the other about 1974MHz.  Dedicated folding machine running Windows 10.  Each is in a PCIE 3.0 x8 slot.  PPD calculations according to HFM.

Thanks for the info on the 1070 SC PPD.  I look forward to swapping out my 560TI for a 1070 soon.

painis4thaweak you should be able to Fold @ 1900MHz Plus with no problems. Never Mind you are on a Laptop.
What Driver are you running. What is that Tool "GPU Overclock"?
