My Monitor (AW3821DW) is G-sync ultimate and has been working fine since I got it.
 
I updated to the BF2042 game ready drivers and the G sync option in the nVidia control panel was gone.  
 
Ran DDU in safe mode and ran the 496.84 hotfix driver and G sync was still gone
 
Ran DDU in safe mode and let windows install its own old driver and G sync is still gone.
 
This is my same monitor with same DP cable that has been perfect until that damn 2042 ready driver and now I am G-sync less.
 
Any advice?  

Man, what is Nvidia doing? This is what, 3-4 back-to-back driver versions that have caused issues? I downloaded 496.76 yesterday but haven’t installed it yet. Now, I’m wondering if I should even bother.

I'll keep that in mind if I decide to try 496.76. Is this the first time you've experienced this problem? Just seems odd that installing a new driver would trip up a monitor. I know when I DDU, however, that I have to reinstall my monitor drivers each time. Wondering if that has anything to do with it in your case.

 good info, glad you got it sorted...didn't happen to my Asus, but if It does in the future, I'll give this fix a go.

I wonder if it was unique to the "G-sync Ultimate" modules, or the model DW3821DW, or just my own one off dumb luck.
 
I am also windows 11 if that was a factor who knows.  

I have had the same issue, same Monitor and driver rev.   I also noticed my 'gsync' turns off (sometimes) when it returns from waking up.   When I unplug/plug in the display cable, gsync comes back.     Went back to an older driver for now...  

I'm running one Gsync monitor (original gsync module) and one Gsync compatible monitor with no issue's.  Using the latest WHQL driver and Windows 11.  I did not use DDU as I rarely do and did not have to go to the MS store for the NV control panel as it was already there installed.  The only time I've needed to go to the store for the NVCPL was after running DDU awhile back.

monitor is 1 year old and first time. 
 
yea something in that driver install bugged my gsync module out.  even rolling back drivers.  the monitor must retain this glitch in the sleep state, but killing power from the wall made it come back alive.  
 

WOW! Thank you for the info on this RB. Im running the same monitor but its only 7 months or so old. I havent done the driver updates for a couple months now cause everythings been working so well, and now it looks like i will be holding off a bit longer to see what happens first.

Gsync works fine on 496.76, I just had to unplug the monitor.  I installed the hotfix too, gsync was fine.  actually I played 2042 last night on these drivers and it seemed "better".

the real kick in the nuts....  In a fit of frustration I flipped the monitor forward to unplug the DP cable to swap it out during testing and put a half inch in gouge in the screen......  TBH it is barely noticeable, but I can't unsee it now and damnit.
 
maybe this is the excuse I need to find a OLED 48".  or maybe give the G9 NEO another chance (first odyssey I had was a major POS)  
 
 

Oh man, been there before but with only a cheap monitor, nothing like these. Can you only see it when its off?

i can slightly see it, but it is off to the left side and only when bright colors are shown.  so pissed.  especially knowing all i needed to do was unplug the stupid thing.
