Skits1023 Lhr cards are dumb anyways.. it splits the supply and doesnt offer any benefit at all. Pretty sure people have already figured out how to get around them with custom bios flashes to still use them for mining
Frankly if there was a way to completely kill hashrate without significantly affecting gaming performance I'm all for it, we desperately need a reprieve from cards being scalped or sold off to miners before they even hit inventory of stores.
You're missing the point that people can just easily get around the hash rate limiter. People will find a way to use it for mining so putting a lhr version of the card out doesn't really do anything

Should be coming down soon or normalizing at some point. Could be completely wrong but one can hope.

We expect the price to drop considerably in July. However, we won't be able to buy it at the MSRP.

Price won't drop as much as you think. Sure supply side will be flooded but floor at MRSP + a couple hundred bucks scalp is still there.

The price you paid is not too bad from MSRP. I think the top end cards like the 3090 are already starting to drop, they are useless big pieces of s*** that offer no value for money. The MSRP of them is silly, but the third party markups are beyond ridiculous and people actuallly seem to be coming to their senses with those cards. Nvidia has been flooding the markets with the top end 3090's and when the drops usually happen you can now have long periods of time to secure your card (in some cases over 30 minutes!). Where as other cards like the 3080 are still kinda like gold dust, because everyone knows value for money when they see it. But even the MSRP of the 3080 is pretty steep.

I actually canceled that one and got another 3070ti for 785€. Still overpriced, but affordable.

marto_banicata Do you think the prices will continue to drop? I ordered a 3070ti for 970€ and the card is currently sitting in the courrier office. I'm starting to rethink my decision to buy it, 970€ is still too much. I know that nobody can predict the price movements, but I'm still interested to hear your opinions on that.
I was offered an MSI 3070ti for $950 MSRP at micro center and I said no and walk away...... Apparently the manufacturer are becoming real-life Scalper now and it is soooo stupid.

The way I look at it is, I've waited this long so I might as well wait for things to normalize. I'm not paying scalping prices ever.

They created desktop cards and workstation cards.. they serve 2 different purposes. a 3rd purpose card for mining should be an option if it will help the desktop community.

We can hope. But I don’t see an end to this in the short term. Full flow of production will take some time

Prices will come down around Q1 2022, this current price will be stable or could up a bit.

An employee from a local retailer advised the pricing will trend downwards for GPUS, but as to how steep is the fall, remains to be seen. 3060's and 308's are still about double their MSRP here, but we can get better deals on 3070 TI or 3080 TI. No matter how hard we try to predict the pricing fluctuation, no one can know for certain, it depends from a geographical area to another, retailers, availability, etc. I don't think the vast majority can afford and will buy at this still inflated prices.

It will follow the crypto prices. The used market may see an influx of GPUs now that China has issued a ban on mining, but it would be best to avoid those cards.
