Sadly in Canada, they aren't all that much cheaper than the 3090,...but I suppose they are creating a price gap for the inevitable 3080 Super!

It's priced that way because of it's minor performance gap from the 3090. They couldn't call it a 3090 light because then they would have to add the NVLink pins, and they are trying to steer away from that.

The 3090 was already a horrible value, and was mostly aimed at people who needed the vram for productivity, the 3080 Ti is aimed at gamers but only has a 10% better performance for around 70% higher price, its a terrible product that no one should pay 1200+ dollars for.

Ebay is flooded with cards double msrp and more, i was thinking about it and the math is really not in anyone's favor. Miners wont buy it with the LHR and gamers wont pay scalpers mostly on principal. So this is going to divide everyone evenmore.

I'm on the same page here, but as many mentioned around, it's a matter of getting one at this point if you find yourself without a videocard or 1-2 generations back.

Honestly I feel it’s worth it for the 3080Ti since when NVIDA announced the next generation we all sat around and figured it would be priced like the 2080Ti in price. If the 3080Ti came out first before a 3080 we would not be discussing it’s price being an issue.

horrible deal but what choice do you even have. we peasants can't know the skills or equipment to build our own GPUs. if only it was as simple as putting together a few chips on a rasberrypi
