https://www.techpowerup.com/268027/fractal-design-introduces-define-7-compact-case The new Define 7 Compact takes the strongest features of the contemporary 7 Series design and places them in a conveniently compact frame. The versatile open layout of the Define 7 Compact allows you to maximize the potential of the small footprint with full-size ATX hardware to meet your exact needs. Interchangeable top covers allow you to switch between solid steel for full noise suppression or a ventilated cover for extra cooling. The top framework is fully removable for unprecedented ease of access to interior components, and five front ports (including one USB Type-C) means you don't sacrifice expandability for the small footprint. It's not a bad case but I personally prefer a clear or glass front.

the exploded view is much better at showing the potential of this case ... outside looks like a typical Fractal Design case

The way the plastic front panel is attached to the case with those plastic round thingys is so cheap, like the most basic 20$ case. Front is the worst part, as always.

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, but the front is aluminum. From the review: "The front of the Define 7 comes with a brushed aluminium panel with an embossed Fractal logo in the bottom-left corner."

Only buy full aluminium cases, actually a lot of my build has it everywhere.

That alum part is very thin and attached to the plastic front part for the looks, the front itself is attached to the metal case with plastic tenons or whatever they are called. It is possible to break them and it makes for awkward removal of the front panel.

The front really isn't interesting at all. Wish that they had done something more since nothing about it really gets me excited by the case and it's the first thing people will see about it.

I prefer steel cases, aluminum tend to fall apart too fast.
Corsair Obsidian 750D Airflow Edition with the Corsair AX1600iWindows 11 on my ThinkVision 31.5 inch P32p-20 Monitor looks good.

I have a Corsair Obsidian 100D which is a mix of steel and aluminum and it's solid.

The Obsidian seem to be be better, I have a cheap SPEC-01 and the side panel has melted a bit on it from heat

I like the case but looks cheap looking

The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. I like Fractal Design, but don't see anything here to stand out from the rest of their lineup.
