Does anyone have any wheel recommendations for FH3? Fanatec looks like the gold standard but I don't know if I can justify the cost. Are there any wheels in the $300 range that are worth buying?

The Logitech G27 is a great wheel, but Logitech stopped making them and new ones are super expensive. Logitech replaced it with the G920, which is about $300. It doesn't include a gear shifter like the G27 did, it's $50 extra. So for the wheel and stick you're looking at about $350. If the G920 is like the G27 (I hope it is since it replaced it) it's a really good wheel.

I noticed that today and was going to post about it. $200 if you don't want the shifter. It looks like the shifter can be bought for $40 anyway so only the steering wheel is on sale.

Man these games look insanely good. Crazy how far it's come in just a few years.

I personally wouldn't use a wheel in FH3. It's an arcade racer and I find Im better off with the controller. I tried a wheel in FH1 and it only led to massive amounts of frustration because the physics are nothing like what is in Forza Motorsports. There are 300.00 wheels, but they fall short in so many ways it's not worth it. Logitech used to be viable in the wheel department but with the latest generation they've released they're not even worth paying attention too. Look at either Thrustmaster or Fanatec. Both are going to run you something around 480+ but are better in the long run.

Great post. And the pedals are more important than the wheel. By that I mean at least get a load cell brake if you want to get into sim racing. FH3 I just use a Dualshock.

Agree 100% Though I didn't elaborate, the pedals were very much on my mind when I mentioned that the less expensive wheels weren't worth it. If your looking at Fanatec, you can get a complete set up for 460.00 including a decent set of pedals While they aren't the Club Sport set, they're still a decent entry level pedal and can be upgraded to include a clutch if you so desire. If you opt to go three pedal, then you're looking at a bit more. At that point, I would save up the extra 100.00 more and just get the Club Sports.

From looking around at benchmarks, it only helps if you have a slowrt computer. Faster computers can actually have the frame rate drop with the gaming mode on.
