I doubt spongebob was joking, as I also have no ides what "bunkering" is.

I'm *guessing* from context it is about somehow doing work ahead of time and not submitting the results 'till a contest starts?

In a nut shell, yes.
Run several VMs, change hard drives, run several clients and so on.
Then drop them after the challenge starts. Or near the end of the challenge (sandbagging)
Sandbagging is done so those ahead may let down their guard, shut down systems thinking they are way ahead.

Yes, I was seriously asking what bunkering is.  When I don't know something, I will ask a question. My motto in life is to always to learn something.  And no, I do not like as asparagus.

Thanks for explaining it.  I'm not looking to "bunker."  I didn't understand what it was.

I love being able to take my passion for computers and give back to the world.  I spend my day taking so much.  It feels good to be able to give back in some way.

right there with you, i have a bunch of systems and VM's set up but for other reasons. Bunker takes too much work. I like to just be able to set my clients to the project when its time to run it and then let it do its thing ^_^.

I follow this guide (no VMs, just blocks project with Firewall rule):
https://tsbt.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2092

Easy to setup, but the downside is you can't get more tasks if your bunker cache was not big enough.

I will try to bunker more than I need to last until event start, so I have a reserve if there are a shortage of tasks.

(Didn't feel the need to keep this secret, since if you Google "boinc bunker" it is the first search result.)

So what projects are we looking to run after the TZC??
any targets we need to look at or just consolidate what we currently have points wise??

Myself I am going for the 500 in all my Projects.
Some may or may not be listed under Formula Boinc.
PS Nice takeover on ОДЛК maybe you can let me keep it over on ODLK1 (Latin Squares
Also RakeSearch is a Latin Squares Project.

Please elaborate on the 500??

I am going to 300k on odlk, the next badge. Then will move to something else..
You are welcome to take the top spot if you like    But you will have to work for it..
Will let you keep your ODLK1, will look at that next year and put some work into it..

Start my cycle with getting all my projects to 100 then to 500 and on to 1000.
In Some Projects just will not happen for me because of lack of Tasks and projects are now off line or turn off that is.
Also some Projects are Very Hard to get Tasks like RNA and the Climate or Weather Projects.
This is my list of Projects that are Below 100 and 500 as shown in Free-DC

PS you can take ODLK1 as well, in the end it moves our Team up the ranks.
I am all for Our Team as you know.

I am trying to get some badges for ODLK, Rake Search, and POGS.
Also trying to catch up on WCG since I had neglected it for some time and am way back in team stats.

I'm willing to do whatever it takes to insure our 4th place finish in league 2 but my prefs are to cool the gpu's off after the TZC. I'll use them if we need them.
Also been crunching WCG for top40.nl in the Christmas Race since we didn't enter. Busy times fo sho!

Proud to be part of this team, the folding team and a few others thanks to BC!

i'm still gonna try to shoot for 300m in folding ^_^, so close.  But looks like we're close in citizen science grid to the next point level.  But that can be deceiving given how long tasks are.  I'm just switching my cpu tasks among some of my pet projects right now unless there's one we should focus a little bit on.

Stay on your pet projects, we are in a good spot points wise..
If we need to make a run on some projects, the word will go out and we can focus if we need to.

Crunch on.. and have some fun also..

If you look at his last four posts, he was not happy something was said about him(us) helping LM and that other team in that challenge.
He was not happy about the complaints about bunkering, and what I had to say about another team members post here.
Other members left right after the team started the DCer of the month thing and voting for DCer....,
And when the team started to go heavy into challenges. They did not like the direction the team was going and the what they saw as a popularity contest. No one even noticed they are gone, not even to this day.
People come, people go.
All this is off topic, maybe it needs its own thread or go to the general topic thread. This is the FB thread.

300m in one month, or 300m total?

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Re: Formula Boinc 2017/12/20 20:36:20 (permalink)
What a good idea the Formula BOINC masterminds had, to run Sprints this year! Generally the excitement factor increased ten-fold (except for those troublesome projects)! It has overall been great fun to run with you guys, and OcUK and OCN. Sadly, if FB follows their own rules, TAAT will get move to League one for 2018, where we shall get soundly pummeled. :/ Repeatedly. :( And then a few more times for good measure. :'(

Currently TAAT is highly focused on defeating team Bronyathome.org in a Folding challenge, so if you decide to go after a better position for FB, we will have very little reserve with which to counter-attack (if we even notice, pretty well pre-occupied with not getting beaten by a My Little Pony team, lol).

Team EVGA has certainly proved itself a team to be reckoned with, and what a powerhouse you'd be if more of your immense Folding team joined in BOINC projects!!! It appears you get to battle [H]ardOCP next year in league two, so maybe for 2019 OCN, OcUK, TAAT, EVGA and [H] can all be in league one...then we can have fun together again! :)

I haven't checked in with you for a while, so I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

I appreciate you guys, and wish you the best!

PS: Doh, I almost forgot to send out the Christmas cards! Here ya go! :P
