I see a couple EVGA GTX980ti for 265$ each.
I may have to pull the trigger on one for that price.
Won't be here in time to help with this challenge though.

Yeah....but if you pay your own electric bill, the 70 watt savings of a 1080 can really add up during 24/7 operation. Snagged 6 Founder's the last few weeks for about $425 average shipped, after selling my 980Ti's. 70watts is $61 a year at $0.10 per KWh, not to mention the savings from the air conditioning.

I don't run GPUs 24/7, I mostly run CPUs 24/7 But I am CPU heavy, been trying to build up my GPU power for the challenges. That's mostly when I run a gpu just a few days in a row at a time. Or the time I am playing PC games, I do not do a lot of that much anymore. I heat my house with computers in the Winter, then I cut everything way back in the warmer weather. Heating my house I do run GPUs on the coldest days, but getting GPUs that uses less power, but throw off less heat, does not help! We will be in the 70f here soon, Spring has sprung!

bill if you have any fah bucks saved go for the 1070 in bstock for the same reason tony said. Tony do you own the TVA? On another note, I let 2 of the rigs run out of Einstein work when the wifey made me run all over town with her on her day off. I gots to have my head examined.

I do not keep the EVGA bucks for long, always need a PSU, new T-shirt, SLI bridge or something. Just can't seem to save them up.
On forums I am seeing EVGA FTX1070 selling for lower price with more warranty left on them than what Bstock offers.
Bstocks have not been so cheap lately.

Yep! and sometime not an easy Program to run. Running yoyo@home on my Ryzen1800X ATM once completed I will see how Leiden Classical run on this new CPU from AMD.

I'm also running leiden classical now. HT on running 6/8 threads takes under an hour per task. Points are stingy, 20-35 per task.
