Back for some more Folding Fun!

i'll be switching my rigs from mining to folding tomorrow ... don't mind  it's going to a good cause
i'll make plenty after the contest is over

I might need to drop my PPD estimate down a bit, not sure I can reach around 5 mil consistently, 4 mil would be more likely, if you can adjust that.

Just noticed "participants must fold a minimum of 10,000,000 points in the combine qualification and contest period". That seems to work out to about 670K ppd.
I hope to get another card running again (like pie, it is hot & flakey... I'm trying to find a good underclock/volt setting) this weekend but even with that it won't be enough (might reach a total of 500K ppd if get good work units). I was hoping somehow get a 3xxx card by now but so far no luck at local stores nor the egg's shuffle, and it looks like eVGA queue is moving way too slowly (especially as only joined it in early January). So do I need to drop out of this contest?

I don't see why you need to drop out. The part you quoted was for prize pool eligibility only: 
To be eligible for the prize drawing, participants must continue to fold within the contest rules through the entire duration of the contest.
To be eligible for the prize drawing, participants must fold a minimum of 10,000,000 points in the combine qualification and contest period.
If you are unable to reach this threshold due to your hardware, please send troy8d a PM prior to the start of the contest to be granted an exception. Lack of hardware should not be a reason that you don't win a prize!
If you fold during the contest period, there can be exceptions made. Of course that will be up to Troy ,and Drougnor.  Thanks for joining in with us. 

As notfordman said, its not a requirement to participate - you can participate at any level of PPD.
 
If you can't hit the amount to be eligible for a prize and you still want to be included in the drawing, shoot me a PM and let me know whats up.  Happy to make exceptions for those that have older hardware and still want to be included.

We've got 105 entrants and I've just handed off the stats collection page to troy8d for his behind the scenes magic to happen!  My stats are happily purring away now in pre-contest testing.
 
Also, Troy, it looks like I may need to have my points dropped down to 5 million ppd.  I am in need of totally field stripping a system to clean out EVERYTHING and reroute wiring for best air flow as during folding it's acting like it's overheating and freezing randomly, but I'll hold off on that until AFTER the contest.

• Welcome the Protein Prophets captained by AcesofDeath7 to the contest!
• Xavier_Zepherious has also volunteered to captain the Crunching Tigers Folding Dragons if we have enough participants to field 5 teams (he graciously deferred to allow the Protein Prophets to enter).  When divvying up the teams, I hopefully will be able to include the CT/FD as a 5th team as long as we have enough members (I haven't checked the math on how it will work out, but I think we should be able to field 5 teams).
• The qualification round kicks off tonight!  All participants must be folding during the qualification round to be placed onto a team!  If you are unable to fold for whatever reason please send me a PM.
