The first team I ever folded for was EVGA in 2008 (see Joined). For me, it was always about the cause. Curecoin has allowed me to build a valuable 501(3)(c) in under 5 months that allows me to dedicate more resources to that cause. I have more respect for you all here, given that every KW of electricity is self-funded, but in the end, I think we're all in it for the same reason. I think that's all that matters.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

So necroing this as Team Curecoin is looking to hit 1 BILLION PPD today. As of 1800 they are at 799,858,419, and with 6 hours to go with averaging 112,807,036 every 3 hours, it looks like they will hit the 1 Billion mark. A mysterious new player has joined the team and taken the lead from PS3Ed. If this person continues on their path, they will do 60 million ppd today. WOW!

While they may show over the 1B mark because of the points outage, that's just it - They will be getting the benefit of 2 updates from the previous day added in to today's results. They'll need to do it on a day where the stats don't crap out for it to 'count' in my book.
But their daily numbers ARE wicked!!
Also, they're due to overtake us in 6.5 or so days, per EOC.

Yup, it's NOT a "legit" 1 billion PPD for the day, due to the stats outage.
Give us two or three weeks or so of more growth and we SHOULD manage it legitimately.
On the other hand, Ed Olkkola became the first user past 20 billion cumulative a few days back - gonna be a while before anyone else hits THAT mark.
Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding. I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Had a bad fight with drivers and Windows 10 this month for my rigs. Probably lost what ever "Profit" I was going to earn with folding but I'm not bent out of shape about it as the work in the end is going to a good cause. I fold for Cure simply to help feed my hardware addiction.  I have a little girl on the way so my budget for computer parts spending will tighten up drastically but at least I can put my rig's to work to earn something back while making the world, in some small way, a better place for her. Do I look to make a profit from folding? Yes, but again that's not the only or even the main reason for doing it and for some reason it becomes unprofitable, I will still Fold. Just maybe not at a full capacity as currently it costs $180 or so a month during the summer to do it.

if you didnt i was going to when Curecoin was 3 days from taking the #1 slot and/or hitting the 1 BILLION PPD mark. still i can not believe this recent explosive growth as FLDC has fallen nearly 60% over the last month yet PPD still climbs nearly 10-40 MILLION PPD every day, minus that workserver issue, and its user base has grown by 100 users from 950 to 1050.

And we topped 1 billion again today - but it doesn't count due to Stanford issues AGAIN.
Two outages in one weeks seems a bit excessive.

Just keep Folding is about all you can do. I have stayed with my team and it is only 3 guys, but it is my team I started along time ago and will keep chugging until I die. Team EVGA is a great team and I hope you guys continue to fight on.

Still no "legitimate" 1 billion points in a day - but as of the "3pm" update on ExtremeOverclocking Team Curecoin should achieve the #1 position overall.
It's been a LONG chase of what is STILL the #2 current production team in all of Folding.
