Here we go.... 

I just had to share the story on here because i been in customer service for 20 years and... i'm very much disappointed thus far

I built a new rig on nov. 2019 , bought what i thought was the best gpu money could buy , a 2080ti FTW3 Hybrid 

The card was fine until one fine morning where i sat at my desk with my coffe and i noticed that the fan (on the gpu not the radiator) fell at the bottom of the case :) welp.... okay , check online and such and everyone praises evga's customer service...

I'm an affiliate streamer took me only a week to get there and i was grinding for my partnership back then.

The first rma card took a long time to get to me even tho i left a deposit for a quicker swap ha and also PAID OVER 100$ for shipping

Mind you i haven't been able to stream during that time... I finally get the new card , i'm happy , install it in , fire up my game and then.... 

Super low fps and lines and artifacts are showing... i'm like wow maybe my pc **** the bed?

Install said card in my room mate's computer wich was working fine with his 1080ti... same thing happened so.... 

CARD WAS DOA , NICE

Call evga for a replacement yet again they ask that i pay shipping... hell to the ****ing no , they paid for it (and made sure to take the SLOWEST shipping available yet again...)

So being stuck without a gpu yet again i scout the local marketplace and source an ASUS 2060 super for 600$ CAD 

Install that puppy in.... i had better fps while streaming than i did with my 2080ti FTW 3 ULTRA something something... i was like well maybe i had a faulty card

Finally get the 3rd card in , wich works fine and has the exact same fps results as the 2060 super...... smh

My little brother decided to have his first rig built so i decided to gift him my spare 2060 super thinking , i cannot possibly get a 3rd defect on this right?

Wrong......... i was so wrong , few months later , the same darn fan stopped working yet again (the one on the gpu)

Called for my 3rd rma .. they asked for me to pay shipping again.... wich i didn't because i mean at one point you gotta deliver something that works right ? or i would of spent 300$usd in shipping alone already...

The card took over 2 weeks to get there and i had no updates what so ever from evga concerning the rma so yesterday i called..

They confirmed they received the card 2 days ago but still haven't shipped mine yet... i asked for a ''downgrade'' to a ftw3 ultra AIRCOOLED version in hope it won't have as many issues but.... to be honest , evga will never get my business again , i will sell the darn 2080ti or do a giveaway one the twitch channel and source a 3080/3090 SOMEWHERE ELSE for sure 

The customer service manager wouldn't admit there was a known issue with the hybrid version and i had to argue with them to get a ''downgrade'' because they would only swap for the same product... i haven't received the 4th card yet but i sure hope it won't be another hybrid version because whoever inherits this p.o.s. will be mad in a few months when the fan falls off :)

Also funny how evga confirms right above their rtx 3090 page that the cards would go live at 9AM PST time.... and they went live at like 7:10 am XD what a joke of a company , with poor customer service for overpriced garbage :D

    to be fair, a huge part of this is just genuinely terrible luck. If this was the norm then the forums / reviews / etc. would be absolutely swamped and nobody would even consider EVGA.
     
    It does sound like your customer service experience left something to be desired though, to say the least.

    Well... Another little update i called evga on the 23rd since i had no updates ... They said "yeah we received your card 2 days ago"... Okay have you shipped mine yet ? "Heum no maybe tonight ?"... Ups said it was going to be delivered today but apparently it won't be till monday so... This whole thing will have stretched over 3 weeks now 😅 and i sure hope they actually sent an aircooled version because if its another hybrid i think ill just throw it in the fire pit rather than having to do all this b.s. all over again in 2 months...

    I don't get why they waited till i called to ship the replacement for real...

    no idea how they can get away with charging you $100 shipping for a device THEY didn't test. pretty absurd.

    Did they express any hope that you might be reimbursed for shipping charges? That's the most brutal part to me, it shouldn't be on you.

    I paid for shipping once , from then on it was a hard no on my end to pay for shipping , they honored that with 2+ weeks shipping for "free" lol

    Thanks for the kind words guys ! I did try to speak to the customer service manager , i asked them with all the b.s. that's happened... I'm not asking anything for free , i will pay full retail but , make amends and let me buy a new gen card ? Got a hard no on that too XD i can't believe how much they don't give a crap , like i said i been in customer service my whole life , i been a manager for gamestop and electronic stores and when stuff hits the fan for a customer i always made sure i made him happy (without costing the company too much) but you know... a little rebate there , put aside something for them , call a superior and ask if we could just swap the product and upgrade him , basic stuff i think... i dont know , am i crazy to think i would of deserved that ? Would also of been the only way i would give their product another shot , and it was their time to say look , well sell you one because we know our products are good and here's us showing you we want to make you happy lol

    I've been buying eVGA since...GeForce 2 GTS days....so...a long while...I've had an annoying RMA experience, but never a bad one..Sorry you're going thru this...
     
    I'd like you to give them another chance, tho...
     
    I know I won't be switching companies....waiting on my 3090 Ultra FTW3 now..

    I would of if they at least tried to make things a bit right but they didn't seem to care at all , all i got from the customer service manager was a hard no we can't help you so... I'll be patient snd buy a 3090 strix from asus

    My rtx2080ti ftw3 hybrid was faulty on install and had nothing but trouble trying to get it replaced, evga wouldn’t even replace the card it was only after countless emails that support finally accepted my rma
    I’m still not happy because I bought a brand new card is now a couple months old and they’ve only agreed to ship me a refurbished card lol not the best as it could be 2 years old and mine is new and was obviously faulty for it to be there in the first place as they have no new cards for the 2080 series available what so ever
    Replacement is arriving Monday will have to see if it’s fit for purpose when I install it
    Was supposedly on the advanced rma and they still shipped me a refurbished card ,you’d expect to have a new card sent if your card is under 6 months old really not happy with the customer services thus far,we shall see what happens
    If anyone has similar issues and managed to get a good resolution please let me know cheers

    It’s a nightmare dealing with evga’s customer services at the minute I’m having major issues myself , took me a long time just for them to agree to rma my 2080tihybrid which is only a couple months old , I just want a new card not a refurbished one if I’m honest you shouldn’t be getting a 2 year old card swapped for your new card it’s horrendous

    I think a lot of places are harder to deal with this year then last as a lot of places are using less staff in office and more people working from home in general. That said as long as you expect that things can take a little bit longer I think things are working pretty well overall.
