i tried it out. worked great but was not my cup of tea as per style, so i started modding it (which is what i do best lol). 
sooo here is mine,

now of course credit goes to the original maker of the MSIAFTERBURNER.dll for rainmeter, along with the fact that without his coding i prolly woullda never figured out how to do it.
the skin i used was off what i used for the rest of my desktop found here http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/sysmonitor/rainmeter/#/d2oqh0a so he gets cred to cause i love his grid skins!
 
the monitors are right on the mark with afterburner, took me a few hours to recode all the scripts to use a different grid and stuff, but whatcha think?
and heres my desktop, WIN7, OBJECTDOCK(middle top and bottom), Rainmeter sensor monitors all round the edges, and dreamscene backround(a video background)

Wow!  I have rainmeter, but haven't done anything like that.  Impressive.

Does rainmeter eat up a lot of resources?

adds like 2 sec at start up to load all the meters i got and other than that not that i can tell. and you see i have a TON of meters going lol. with all my desktop going its only usin 17,xxx k of my mem and has a avg of 2.7 avg CPU total load. so yeah i never noticed lol
now my dreamscene on the other hand lol can be a cpu mem hog occasionally when i am messin with it lol
 
everything on my desktop in those pics is a rainmeter of somesort minus my object docks in the middle top and bottom. and once ya take a look at the script code and actually read it, its SOO easy to customize to what you want it to do from launching a specific program with left mouse click and a different with right to showing cpu/gpu load/temps. ive only been workin with it for like 2 days and ive already customised my own GPU meters lol so its not hard at all

yeah my coding is still very messy, i did it quick and just made it usable it still has ALOT of pointless code in the script. once i clean it all up imma upload it somewere and put it on the web since i cant find any nice GPU monitors, also you can change the color to anything you like change the text (mine says 470 xxx) and can also make it monitor just about anything, i also have it monitoring my CPU Temps lol

just waitin on a reply from the author of the Graph templates and ill upload the complete rainmeter kit to use MSIafterburner and these monitors. id love to just toss them up now but id like to not piss of a awsome theme maker for rainmaker lol

I really like your work, love the blue, but not minimalistic enough for me.  I would love to get some graphs working for my temps or something cooler.  I'v using hud.vision and its monitoring plug in didnt work.  So i used the speedfan.dll plugin for rainmeter and wrote my own off of that version that also didnt work, really minimalistic and I did what i can with it.  
 
ignore the crappy cpu temps they dont count :-D my sensors are bad.
 


 
 

I tried rainmeter but I ended up prefering gadgets.
 
I'm only @ 1080p right now so I don't have room for either anymore :/
 
I need a bigger screen, 47" is killing me.
