Hello!

I am still learning on how to OC on a eVGA E113 730a MB. The Phenom II 940 is running at 3.0Ghz now but would love to get it to 3.7. I have a Artic Cooling aftermarket heatsink that keeps my CPU super cool so I am not worried about the temps as much.

The problem I am having to learn is the settings:

CPU DID - I know to leave this one alone. No need to divide the multipliers.
CPU FID - This is for the Multiplier setting for the FSB. (i.e. 200x18.5 = 3.5 Ghz)
CPU VID - Voltage ID. How much power to give the CPU to be stable at the new settings.

Problem I am having is knowing the right FID/VID (In Hex) to reach 3.7 Ghz on this chip. I know the Hex Codes for the FID but the VID code is at 12 right now. Should i change it or leave it alone. Also, should I adjust the Vcore from AUTO to 1.55v?

Ideas?

    Hello,

Sorry about the late reply but are you still using this motherboard with this processor?

My long past experience with the AMD Phenom II X4 and series, I can honestly say, I never had to change anything other than CPU Voltage & Multiplier to get a rock solid 3.8Ghz(X4 955) which ran for years until replaced. My buddies X4 940 hit a massive wall right at 3.7Ghz, only way to stabilize was give massive voltage which just lead to heat issues, but such is the Silicon Lottery. To this date the AMD Phenom II X4 series was the most fun, and easiest overclocking I've done.
