Heres the bios editor.

Double click on the label "Filename" and it will enable editing.
Just youll need a patched nvflash like maxwell had that bypasses the cert checks. Other wise you need to externally program it to a bios chip.

Did you create this or find it somewhere? Any newer version? I can't believe nobody is talking about this... If you made it BRAVO and thank you. If you didn't, thank you for posting it.

Thanks OP for this.

However, when I replace the library.dll file, like many others, X1 Precision won't launch. Do you know what I can do to fix this?

Hi I know its been a while, I also get the same problem, any workaround for this?

Thank you

My guess is you would have to edit the current dll delivered with X1 to make it work.

@BMGJet

Okay so I have an EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 Ultra Gaming, part number 24G-P5-3975-KR and whenever I recently went to update my card from the original bios (BIOS dated 9/2/2020) to the latest bios (BIOS v94.02.42.C0.10 dated 3/3/2021) using the the latest Nvidia NVFlash tool (Nvidia NV Flash dated 2/7/2022) my card unfortunately got bricked. GPU-Z didn't show any info on the card so I panicked and restarted my computer (hoping the old restart would fix) and upon restart, I got the good ole black screen. So, after restarting my pc 1,000 times and getting a black screen over and over it is confirmed that my card is indeed 100% bricked).

I went ahead and read your guide @BMGJet and  and I went ahead and ordered a along with a 1.8v adapter as well as the soic 8 pin adapter. There wasn't any instructions included with the kit but after doing some Googling, I found that the CH341A programming software by Sky-Z seems to be the most recommended software to use for this tool and purpose. However, being that there wasn't any instructions included with my kit, I'm not sure exactly how to hookup the adapter to my computer and or what settings to put in the software. Can you spring any help on that? I'm not sure which pins the 1.8v adapter should plug into the CH341A usb programmer, and what pins the 8 pin soic adapter plugs into the 1.8v adapter. And what settings do I put for the software regarding the chip's type, manu, and name? The chip on my card's pcb is is the same as yours (MXIC-25U8033E M1I-12G). Upon hooking everything up to the best of my knowledge, I hit "detect" in the software and the software detected chip type: 25 SPI Flash, MANU: MXIC, Name: MX25V512. Although no errors have popped up in the sofware upon detecting, I still don't want to flash anything until I get someone's opinion.

Hold it, did you try just booting from another vga adapter and then flashing your card?

Being that my current GPU/desktop is toast, I hooked up everything to my old laptop and got things setup on that. I just don't know exactly how to piece everything together and what setting to dial in.

I guess I'm not following.  I was just referring to either booting from either the cpu vga adapter (if you have one) or putting a 2nd card in your desktop and booting from it with your borked card in there as well.

Sounds like he's using his laptop to flash the bios chip directly

I would reach out to whomever you purchased the flasher and adapters from and ask them what you need to do and what software to use.

Hi, I have a RTX 3090 XC3 Ultra and I just bought a hybrid kit to install on it. Is using 390W power limit bios make me gain anything? Because I only use this card for gaming and some work applications. I mean is it worth doing? Or should I just use xc3 hybrid(Rebar) bios?

If you are just gaming , you dont need to flash a new bios ,  if you are not Overclocking the card, It wont change anything, the amount of performance you get out of overclocking doesn't make gaming any better, it only makes you card get hotter. If it works, don't mess with it.

Thank you, then I am just gonna use hybrid bios after installing the kit.

Re: 3090 XC3 - [HowtoFix] Zero to Hero 2022/12/24 05:37:08 (permalink)
The only time messing with the clocks/power makes any difference for me in game is with MSFS in VR. If I leave my XC3 at stock power limit I'll notice it right away (because I'm near the ground taking off). But every other game just warms up my room some more.

I know the Port Royal discussion has been a while but it was 10 degrees F out last night so I cracked a window in my office and let 'er rip. I'm on the Galax 2 plug card ReBAR bios, 390w. Got the loop down to 20C, GPU stayed under 45C for the run. +245 core (flattened the curve at 2085mhz) +1000 vRAM and got a 14,752. My best at normal ambient temp with GPU running around 55C was 14,667.

So, I don't know if the resizable BAR made that much of a difference or drivers have just improved that much, but last year the best I could get on 390w was 14,200's.

Hi folks,

I know I'm a little late to the party here and I've read every single post on this thread but a little confused about what is now the preferred 390W BIOS (w/ rebar enabled) here? Also would the instructions on how to flash in the first post be applicable still? Thanks in advance!

I used the 3090 Galaxy Bios from here:

It should have rebar (pretty sure it's on for me).  You don't really need to do anything special to flash.  I followed these instructions: .  FWIW I only saw a few hundred more points in TimeSpy when flashing to the new bios (and of course changing my power limit from 366 --> 390).

Hi there- I appreciate the response but it looks like the links you provided were stripped- might have to space out the URLs like www . site . com :) really appreciate the help here- excited to get this car running on 390W!

All my 3090s run an undervolt which has always performed better than stock with better temperature, If you get the XOC bios from the above pinned, it's easy and installing is a snap.

Okay so I found the techpowerup links to both the galax and kfa2 bios downloads- any reason you chose the galax over the kfa2? Trying to determine which would be most compatible w/ the EVGA XC3 3090

From the intial post the instruction on how to use the unpacker:

"Usage:
Open update.exe
Select the address at which the bios is stored,
You can determin if its an valid address by the Bios name and version numbers looking valid.
Click extract to save."

Where would I find an update.exe on my machine? I have precision x1 installed (am on latest official bios for this card atm). Is there a reason I can't just use nvflash utility and flash a KFA2 rom found on techpowerup for example?

Why not just flash it with NVFlash rather than risking using something else?

It's really as simple as,

1) Disable vid card in device manager
2) Back up original bios
3) Disable protection using NVFlash
4) Flash new bios
5) Reboot

I've done it a couple dozen times on my card.

This is what I'm confused about- this seems like the tried and true method for flashing rtx cards- why would I need a custom exe etc?
