Hello everyone,
 
I purchased this card 8 months ago in brand new condition so it's still under warranty. During this last week some flickering artifacts started to occur in games/graphics. This started happening after the crash with blue screen while playing a game around a week ago. The crash happened for a second time in the same game after a few days. It just froze and I had to reset the PC.
 
These are not random lines or jittering. They are always in the shape of triangles on the assets in the games. These appear in pretty much all the modern games. Not on any characters or moving objects though but they always appear on the ground, objects that have tessellation, open fields with grass/soil/mud/rocks/stones. They do not appear in enclosed areas like rooms with flat walls/floors/ceiling. Usually outside areas.
 
I confirmed that it was the tessellation by running Heaven Benchmark. When I disable tessellation there are no issues and all clean. I turned on the wireframes and it can be clearly seen that it's the triangles/polygons that flicker on the ground/buildings/objects and the amount of triangles flickering increases as I increase the ratio of tessellation. I ran 3DMark tests and it happens in those tests as well.
 
Things I have tried so far none of which fixed the problem:
  • Reinstalled the Nvidia's current latest driver by doing a clean install.
  • Plugged the card into another PCIe slot and reinstalled the driver.
  • Tried a different HDMI and Display Port cable with different monitors.
  • Uninstalled the driver using Display Driver Uninstaller software in safe mode and restarted.
  • Restored the system to a previous point from a month ago (April) to eliminate any recent Windows related updates. (Everything was working fine a month ago.)
 
- This only happens in games/graphics benchmark software.
- No issues on desktop/browser etc.
- My motherboard and CPU are as follows: Intel Core i7-5930K, MSI X99S GAMING 7
- Running Windows 10
- I had different GPUs before this one. None of them had this issue.
- With maximized graphics settings, the card only reaches up to 60-62 C temperature. So I am sure that there is no overheating.
- There is no OC at all for any of the components in the system. Everything have always been running in stock settings.
 
I think all of this indicates that it's a hardware issue on the GPU. However, before I RMA this card I wanted to see if there is anything I missed. Any help is very appreciated!! Thank you!

    Seems like you have done a good job troubleshooting the problem. I would RMA the card.

    Thank you for the feedback. Yeah, I really wanted to find a solution however there are no more options left and the tests show that it's the hardware.

    I just figured out something that fixes the issue. If I lower the GPU clock speed around 160mhz the flickering disappears. However, I never had to do this in the past and I never changed any GPU settings.
     
    This GPU's base and boost clocks are 1470 Mhz and 1680 MHz. For some reason on default profile during gaming it boosts up to 1965mhz and the flickering starts. Around 1750mhz it's all good. Same results in Heaven Benchmark. Reducing the speed fixes it. Any idea why this would start to happen? Shouldn't this card be able to handle more? I never had to lower this setting in the past. If yes, then again I guess the hardware is having issues.

    This started happening again even with the lowered speed settings. The issue seems to be getting worse.

    The issue is not related to changing the GPU. Refer to the details I posted. However, even if that was the case resetting Windows is definitely not necessary when changing the graphics card. What matters is the driver software.
