well where do i start 
after nvidia update and a restart i had a black screen . i could hear my audio starting in the background so i knew the windows had not crashed . after look at many forums and chats about the black screen problems. i updated to the latest motherboard bios rog b550 f gaming wifi.still the same black screen and i have audio , the only thing i can do it pull the cmos battery and clear the cmos with a bridge. after multiple restarts i can get the bios to come back on my monitor. also used different monitors and cable dp hdmi
 
i press f1 to entre the bios and save defaults and the computer will restart and work fine , no overclocks  resize bar etc.. 
 i dont know if it is the pci setting for the resize bar and vbios version but everything is upto date. i build this system over a year ago never had an problem , but soon as i have to restart i get the issues again. ive tried older and newer drivers and motherboard is nothing but black screen .
is it an evga and asus bios problem should i just buy a gigabyte board will that be a quick fix ?? i have tired a full clean and rebuild still the same problem thats why i think its an software or bios not hardware . i really dont know where to go from here.

    Do you have Fast Boot enabled in the BIOS?  If so, disable it.  Do you have Fast Startup enabled in the Windows power options?  If so, disable it.  See if that solves anything if either of those options were enabled.

    yeah ive tried all the fast boot off , still to no avail ,all i can tell it something to do with the newer bios or a setting i auto sets  . but when i can get it to come on, i dont wanna restart because i have to remove the card again for all the cmos reset etc ...  just to get to the biso menu again , it proper doing noodle in

    The DisplayID specification provides enhanced display capabilities.  To ensure compatibility with monitors using DisplayID, an update to the NVIDIA GPU firmware may be required. 
     
    Without the update, systems that are connected to a DisplayPort monitor using DisplayID could experience blank screens on boot until the OS loads.  This update should only be applied if blank screens are occurring on boot.  Click here to download the NVIDIA GPU Firmware Update Tool for DisplayID.

    thanks for the fast update.. i will try the displayid tool and have the bravery to restart and fine tune the bios untill i come across fault again hopefully not . thanks again

    What is the part # of your video card?

    What is the vbios version of your card?

    done the diplays tool also didnt help. taken me this long to get the thing back on to see this post. 
     
     
    only way i can get the thing to post is take the cmos battery everytime loads defaults . becoming a nightmare

    You are sure that you have secure boot disabled in the motherboard BIOS? If secure boot is enabled and you aren't comfortable disabling secure boot, you should be able to delete and recreate the secure boot key.

    yeah 100% its disabling , i really cant think what it is . i am going to go back to old vbios and motherboard one untill i fin a happy medium , other than that i might just buy a new borad . msi asrock

    Update : opened an rma with evga sending the card back for repair , card is only 13mth old as well . light gaming never clocked or used for mining . used  evga cards for years first ever issues iv ever had hopefully they will fix it in a timely order , and dont leave me without a card for weeks on end . 
     
    anyone ever used the returns and repair with evga ?
