I have an EVGA 1000 G+ Supernova PSU and out of nowhere it started doing the coil whine whenever it was under load. I contacted EVGA and they sent me a new, but different PSU as a replacement. They sent me a 1000W G5 Supernova. I removed all the old cables and hooked up the new PSU with all the new cables, fired up a game and the noise is coming from the new PSU. I removed the PSU from the case and set it aside while I listened to it and sure enough, it was making the exact same noise. I have changed the power supply that the computer is plugged into, the power cable, and used a different outlet to see if there are any changes. Nothing works. This system is a 5800X3d, 7900XTX, and a ROG STRIX X570 MB. Storage is 2 m.2 drives one 2tb and one 1 tb. I have another system with less of a power supply, but it doesn't make that noise when under load. Its almost the same, but is a 5900X and a 3080ti. It uses a Seasonic FOCUS+ 850w PSU and hasn't had this issue. I'm not sure if there is anything else I can try as far as figuring out what the noise is. I am thinking about picking up a random PSU and seeing if it will do the same thing or not. Don't really want to throw the money out there, but I'm getting tired of this noise.
On that note, is there anything that could cause the PSU to make the noise like long DP cables for monitors, the MB causing an issue, or something of that nature? I'm just lost on how another PSU that was new (at least I think it was new. It was wrapped like new) is having the same issue right out of the box. The only other option I can think of is trying a different PSU as well to see if it makes the same noise. Not really sure what to do at this point.
Any and all help is appreciated. I might be a little slow to reply only cause I get super busy, but Ill try to reply as soon as I can.
