Doing a new build with an Asus B650E ATX motherboard for an AMD AM5 7700 CPU and the EVGA 500W 80 Plus.
Started the build this afternoon, but immediately ran into an issue with the PSU.  For the ATX motherboard, there is one socket for the 24-pin power cable and two sockets for 8-pin power cables.  However, there is only 1 8-pin cable coming out of the PSU.  I even had my son double-check to be sure I wasn't missing the second cable.
What happened to the 2nd 8-pin cable?????

Nothing to worry about. Your cpu will run fine with just one.

I would not expect two 8-pin EPS cables to come with a 500 watt PSU.
If you are going to overclock the CPU to the point that you need two cables, you will need a bigger power supply anyway.

My EVGA Score: 1546 • Zero Associates Points • I don't shill

That is correct. Low power PSUs tend to have only 1 EPS cable. EVGA has a lot of good deals on their PSUs right now with many of those PSUs having mail in rebates (if you reside in the USA). If you decide you want a higher wattage PSU with 2 EPS connectors EVGA has what you need.
