I am in the process of starting an RMA for a defective card and I have never done a cross ship RMA before. I am wondering what would happen if EVGA rejected the original card after receiving it. Would I have the option of sending the replacement back in exchange for a refund or am I stuck paying for the new card at that point?

Pretty sure they would let you return it for a refund.

    Hi dert3,

If the card is outside of warranty due to modifications to the PCB or Physical Damage and is rejected, then yes you do have the option to return the replacement to receive your collateral back after it is rejected.

One thing to keep in mind is I wouldn’t make any changes to the cross shipped card until after the RMA is accepted. This is more of if it was used with an aftermarket cooler or if you changed thermal pads or anything like that.

While you could I feel it’s best to wait until after you know the RMA is approved as long as you would plan on sending the card back if it was not approved.
